Senior Account Executive, Communications

Location: Remote or Hybrid in Nashville, TN

Department: Payor/Provider - Communications

Years’ Experience: 2 – 4 years

Reports to: Account Supervisor or above

 

The Position

 A successful SAE is a self-starter with a solid skillset in communications strategy development and execution, and who possesses a hands-on approach to show up every day and deliver innovative, research-based, tactical programming for our hospital and health system clients. This professional will be a strategic thinker capable of level-headed client counsel in regard to sensitive issues, an exceptional writer who understands multi-channel communications, and is adept at juggling multiple engagements and deadlines. This SAE will be proactive in recommendations to not only the account team, but the client at the appropriate times. They will also understand the role of corporate communications and how it is used to influence and activate target audiences for organizational benefit. While not required knowledge on day one, this candidate will focus on the impact of health insurance payor and health system or provider dynamics, including managed care (value-based care, population health, care management, reimbursement rates, etc.) within the overall healthcare landscape. This SAE has demonstrated experience in the development and execution of strategic communication programs, particularly in the context of integrated marketing campaigns, working closely with in-house and/or agency partners.

The Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Ownership of client relationships, earning the reputation of a trusted project lead to senior and executive level client contacts through leadership and execution of our payor/provider work.
  • Lead and execute on all aspects of payor/provider work, such as completing research, drafting materials, campaign plans, and proactively assessing engagement next steps.
  • Measure and report performance on campaigns; regularly monitor and create performance reports for payor/provider engagements for updates to the account team and client.
  • Form a strong client relationship, earning the reputation of a trusted project lead.
  • Execute on research initiatives through interviews and survey instruments.
  • Monitor client business objectives, healthcare media, as well as payor/provider management channels (Becker’s, Modern Healthcare, etc.) daily for the latest trends and case studies. Be able to share top-level findings with the team or client.
  • Research and build stakeholder databases from scratch (broker, influencers, etc.)
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to clients on the payor/provider dynamics and managed care within the current healthcare landscape.
  • Take highly nuanced information and craft compelling and relatable written narratives tailored for specific target audiences (brokers, providers, boards, etc.).
  • Pitch or sell ideas and concepts to others that have been identified as organic growth or extended engagement opportunities for Revive that are in-line with clients’ business goals, the overall engagement, and communication strategy.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members by being a sounding board when they have questions; collaborate with team members across departments to deliver strategic and creative payor/provider engagements for clients.

  • I proactively proposed new ideas to the team or client and led the development of those deliverables with appropriate delegation.
  • I’m regularly invited to work across multiple departments because of my insights!

The Essentials

  • Must exhibit a demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful communication or outreach programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly both internally and externally.
  • Help ensure all deadlines are met for the team and client by following a pre-determined timeline for the engagement.
  • Vendor management or account management experience preferred.
  • Payor network or communications department, Agency, or Healthcare Provider in-house communications experience preferred:
    • Health care industry knowledge of concepts related to managed care, hospital systems, provider group organizations, and Payor/Provider relationships.
  • Be a communicator:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, in-person, and over the phone or internet meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
    • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with the ability to connect with internal and external audiences.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through with the ability to anticipate client needs and be one step ahead.
