Your Role and Responsibilities

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving qualified Security Services pipeline specific to the Northeast Region of the United States. This role is responsible for driving opportunities in security services across all of the security domains (Strategy & Risk, Protect, Threat Management and Modernize). The BDE is the lead opportunity identifier and qualifier for complex IT services opportunities that range in value from $1M to $50M across covering all industries located in the NE region of the United States. The Business Development Executive should exhibit exceptional business insight and executive level presence across all lines of a customer's business, which can include the CEO, CFO, CIO, Board of Directors and evaluation committees. They are required to have an in-depth understanding of the respective industry as well as the client's business goals and objectives. This would include leading multi-disciplined teams, and integrating products and services required to meet business needs.

The BDE must be able to demonstrate deep understanding of the customer's business, organization, culture, pain points and compelling reasons to act. The BDE should be able to create, articulate, and sell an innovative business vision and value proposition. They should use the full capabilities of the IBM Corporation, so that customer executives clearly grasp the short and long-term business and financial value of a relationship with IBM.

Strong networking skills will be crucial as you will be required to work with different parts of IBM throughout the lifecycle of a deal. This will include the IBM client teams in the identification and qualification of opportunities, through to leading bid teams made up of legal, technical, commercial and risk personnel as you work with the Sales teams through to closure.

The ideal candidate will be able to have a strong Point-of-View on our client's journey to becoming a hybrid-cloud and cognitive enterprise which in turn will drive meaningful Services revenue for IBM. This vital role is responsible for leading the sales of Security Services solutions to clients within the NE Region of the United States.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of experience in a business development related role
  • At least 5 years of experience working in projects related to one of the core domains: Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), Identity & Access Management (IAM) , Data Security or Security Operations Center (SOC) / SIEM
  • At least 1 year of experience working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions
  • At least 1 year of experience in management consulting and/or systems integration
  • At least 1 year of experience working with security consulting teams
  • Readiness to travel 75% annually



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 8 years of experience in a business development related role
  • At least 8 years of experience working in projects related to one of the core domains: Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), Identity & Access Management (IAM) , Data Security or Security Operations Center (SOC) / SIEM
  • At least 5 years of experience in management consulting and/or systems integration
  • At least 5 years of experience working with security consulting teams
