Job Description & Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: Leadership Sales role on the Travel Industry Sales Team as it relates to all aspects of the client engagement and sales interaction process, including but not limited to the following: relationship building activities and meetings to achieve department business and financial objectives for Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood Travel Agency channel sales, through Universal Parks and Resort Vacations business model.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Account and Channel Management:
    • Develop a comprehensive sales plans for large network agencies, HOST agencies and assigned targeted agencies to include strategies for attaining established monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to sales calls, developing business opportunities, conducting business reviews and enhancing UO website presence with accounts.
    • Develop specific sales objectives and business plans with all strategic level designated accounts, to include marketing and sales strategies to meet or exceed all major sales goals.
    • This role requires an active leadership role focused on how to help UOR attain 30%-35% market share of Travel Agency business into Orlando, by leading team strategic initiatives committees, such as (but not limited to) U-Preferred enhancements, strategic planning, new training approaches, Regional Event and Conference/trade show scheduling and accurately studying and reporting competitive information and changes in the marketplace.
    • This role includes soliciting and winning bids to host partners conferences at UOR.
  • In-Person Trainings and Industry Events: This position requires extensive travel. It requires traveling to train travel advisors throughout North America at UO Regional Events, UO on-site Events, Partner Regional and Training Events and attending conferences, trade shows and other industry events, which may include nights and/or weekend availability.
  • SalesForce: Perform and track sales activities, opportunities and campaigns in SF. Create account profiles and develop strategic account plans, as required by management. Assist in overseeing travel agency account maintenance in Salesforce. Required to take an active leadership role is using SF to help manage and maximize our sales efforts.
  • Digital Engagement: Consistently create and post content for Travel Agent engagement, education and entertainment through the Universal Partner Community and Social Media platforms. Help answer all questions posed by agents on a channel-wide basis.
  • Cross-Departmental Teamwork: Assist as a liaison with internal departments, including UPRV, Sales Integration, Finance, Operations, Resort Sales, Product Planning, and Event Sales.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience is highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years' experience in the industry or equivalent. Prefer direct experience in the travel agency channel; track record of improved account sales a plus.
  • Effective presentation skills and competency in hosting webinars and account meetings both in person and/or on video platforms
    Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Proficient in SalesForce.com
  • Experience in VAX Vacation Access is helpful
