Sales Development Specialist, LGR Leak Detection

You will be accountable for sales of Measurement Products Service in Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) in Houston, Texas, driving sales volumes and margins.You will proactively develop the market for the LGR (Leak Detection products) (Mobile Guard, Hover Guard, Micro Guard, Ever Guard) to Upstream, Midstream, Biogas and Distribution (municipal gas utilities) markets.This will be achieved with strategic industry and consultative application development to establish approval and preference for the LGR Leak Detection products, product services or ABB's own Leak Detection survey services. This will be in collaboration with ABB sales partners where applicable and ABB sales and service teams; demonstrating both commercial and technical expertise to lead sales development efforts. Identify and pursue business opportunities and strategy for sales development. Participate in planning and execution efforts with other ABB Sales Managers. Establish and maintain close ties with customers, sales partners and support groups.Identify market opportunities, develop and execute on sales strategies and maintain opportunity sales funnels in Salesforce to achieve sales objectives. Provide input for preparation of strategic proposals and determine appropriate technical and contractual strategies consistent with the organization's objectives.Provide market feedback and coordinate project teams with internal teams to develop unique business opportunities. Determine commercial viability of products and resources required.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure that sales partners and sales teams are in full compliance with ABB Policies, Laws and Regulations
  • Drive the Core Values and Behaviors defined by ABB PAMA Sales division
  • Maintain Opportunity Sales Funnels in Salesforce to meet/exceed sales objectives
  • Drive sales development with sales partners and ABB teams for effective sales growth of LGR Leak Detection products
  • Train and mentor sales partners and sales teams, assess technical and sales skills and develop as needed
  • Ensure that ABB meets customer expectations and contractual obligations
  • Plan sales strategy and lead execution for major sales development opportunities
  • Develop influencer and management contact with major accounts to increase market penetration and mitigate risk
  • Develop and manage customer referrals for key product and application interest

Your background

  • Higher education in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred but not required if the candidate has 5 or more years of proven and directly relatable industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years related technical experience with a Leak Detection product line or with gas analysis products and/or services
  • Preference for Natural Gas Distribution (municipal utilities) experience over Upstream/Midstream
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working with and developing sales partners and sales teams preferred, or direct account sales
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
