This is a hybrid position: 2 days in the Charleston office and 3 days remote.

The mission for the Sales Development Representative is to generate and qualify new business opportunities for our senior sales team. As Advantage’s first point of contact you play a key role in building the Advantage brand, creating a great first impression, and building momentum for the sales and marketing teams. Successful candidates must have a strong work ethic, passion to be part of Advantage, and the drive to not only meet, but exceed, sales targets. Partnering with our Senior Sales Executives will give you the opportunity to develop and enhance expertise in managing the full sales cycle through a mentee/mentor relationship. Self-motivated individuals looking to build a solid foundation in professional sales are an ideal fit for this position. 

Responsibilities

  • Source Prospects and generate new leads through outbound emails and calls.
  • Initiate the business cycle, qualifying prospects.
  • Vet prospects and leads to match the target market.
  • Follow up with leads generated by corporate marketing and conferences attended by senior sales team, via email and phone.
  • Set expectations for the business cycle and overcome objections from prospects.
  • Prioritize and organize using Salesforce, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo Gmail, and calendar.
  • Meet and exceed weekly, quarterly and annual KPI’s.
  • Develop skills necessary for promotion into a senior position.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Entry level to 2 years of sales experience preferred.
  • 4-year college degree required
  • An interest in building a career in sales.
  • Go-getter with a competitive drive.
  • Positive and energetic attitude with exceptional communication skills.
  • Resilience, perseverance, and the ability to overcome objections.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, sales-team environment; team player.
  • Cold calling, sales training and Salesforce.com experience a plus.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone. Near visual acuity is required in order to work with computers.

  • Employee may be occasionally required to perform light to moderate lifting of office supplies, up to 20 pounds.

This position is located in our Charleston, South Carolina office. Team Members are eligible for health, dental and vision benefits the first day of the month after thirty (30) days of employment. Eligibility for all other benefits is at ninety (90) days of employment.
