The Sales Development Representative reports directly to the Manager, Sales Development and is responsible for growing our lead pipeline by qualifying potential customers as the first phase of our sales cycle. You play a critical role as the first company representative to engage potential borrowers and begin to cultivate the relationship. You will qualify new leads and ensure a smooth handoff to the next part of the sales cycle. This is an entry-level position with expectations that team members grow and develop into more senior sales roles within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Make timely outbound phone calls to prospective borrowers that have expressed an interest in our products via online form submission.
  • Follow up on leads in our database that have previously expressed interest in our products.
  • Qualify leads according to scripts and established criteria.
  • Schedule follow up calls between potential borrowers and Account Executives (AE).
  • Utilize CRM solutions for data entry and tracking contact attempts.
  • Analyze database for cold leads and leverage opportunities to re-engage.
  • Maintain and manage a "hot list" of MQLs/SQLs that aren't ready for AE involvement but represent potential.
  • Collaborate with the AE to develop Keep in Touch (KIT) plans for prospects.


We are looking for people with:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A "Hunter" mentality who enjoys picking up the phone and proactively selling the benefits of the Company.
  • Active listening skills capable of identifying borrower needs.
  • 2+ years' business experience in a direct sales role.
  • Prior service industry experience preferred including real estate, merchant services, financial services etc.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and organized.
  • Ability to critically think and manage diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated patience and persistence.
  • Understanding of value proposition and value-based sales techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
  • Technology proficient and adopter of change.

COVID-19: While we are hybrid and remote-friendly as an organization, this particular role requires in-office time for training and team meetings.
