Sales Development Representative

Overview:

At Weedmaps, we know that the key to growth is in a high-performing sales team. That’s why we’re seeking an enthusiastic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to be the spearhead of the sales team, speaking with potential customers to see if they are the right fit for Weedmaps. This role will be responsible for servicing inbound sales and related inquiries with a focus on engaging and qualifying all prospective customers. As the first line of communication with prospective customers, the ideal SDRs will have a thorough understanding of the sales process and our products and excel at asking the right questions to set our Account Executive team up for success. You should be a quick learner with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow a structured process while also adding personal style. Every potential customer is an opportunity for you to boost our sales and build the customer base that makes Weedmaps the best in the business! 

The impact you will make:

  • Respond, engage, and qualify inbound leads and inquiries
  • Represent Weedmaps’ products and services, starting with a comprehensive understanding of the market and how our solutions meet the needs of our customers
  • Quickly respond to customers who indicate they are interested and qualify those leads through thoughtful and thorough questions
  • Consistent documentation of conversations with prospective customers - Why are they qualified? Why are they not qualified? 
  • Engage Account Executives for next steps, providing detailed information for the rep and a smooth transition for the customer
  • Identify trends and best practices to refine the company’s lead generation playbook
  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries within set SLA
  • Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Continue to follow-up with prospects until qualification is complete
  • Hold intelligent and engaging conversations via phone and email
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and Account Executives
  • Report to sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results

What you’ve accomplished

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience, with a history of exceeding lead targets
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple time sensitive requests
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email
  • Strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organization
  • Contributes fully to the team effort and plays an integral part in the smooth running of teams without necessarily taking the lead
  • Drive, Grit, Team Oriented: strong desire to compete and win
  • Proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM software
  • Prior experience as a sales development rep with a track record of achieving sales quotes
