Department OverviewAvigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Avigilon's solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Sales Director, Southeast North America, the Regional Sales Director for the Carolinas, Video Security & Access Control, North America holds a key position that requires a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about Video Security & Access Control. This individual shall be a strong positive leader, highly customer focused, efficient and results oriented.

 

This role will be responsible for leading the regional sales team covering both North and South Carolina. This role will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Provide service leadership to the regional team helping them be successful.

  • Create, nurture and respond to sales opportunities with regional team members and help close sales orders.

  • Establish quarterly and annual sales objectives for all territories within the Region in coordination with the Senior Sales Director and Vice President of Sales – North America.

  • Promote and sell Avigilon/Motorola products and services through direct customer contact within the assigned geographic territory.

  • Conduct sales calls, schedule “local” promotional work and regularly with discipline track sales activities with all channel and end user opportunities using Avigilon’s Salesforce.com lead and project tracking software database.

  • Supervise and manage the Regional Sales team for successful performance of job duties as detailed in the respective job description.

  • Source, qualify, select and manage: Avigilon Integrators / VARs (Value Added Resellers). These must be proposed and reviewed with the Senior Sales Director , Vice President of Sales – North America

  • Oversee and manage the sale of Avigilon products and services within the specified territory.

  • Prepare proposals and quotes for prospective customers and provide them with published prices, and information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates. Discounts beyond the published price pages must be proposed and reviewed with the Senior Sales Director –, Vice President of Sales – North America

  • Work on key deals to help define and oversee how our products are deployed.

  • Provide first level technical guidance to customers (end-users), integrators and partners.

  • Provide product and sales training to team members, integrators and end-users to help them understand our products including how and when they should be used according to their specific application.

  • Supervise and manage installations at customer sites and in key accounts as needed in order to assure proper commissioning of the system and confirmation of customer expectations and requirements.

  • Attend trade shows and professionally participate in booth duty within the Avigilon/Motorola booth at various marketing events.

  • Provide feedback from end user customer requirements to engineering and operations departments to help implement product improvements and new product releases.

  • Identify key surveillance market influencers, establish contact with them, and demonstrate to them the superiority and utility of our products.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years technical solutions sales experience OR 10+ years of technical solutions sales experience. 

  • Seeking 2+ years of leadership experience. 

  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve objectives, with a team-first approach.

  • Proven team player with success collaborating with multiple departments while maintaining tact and diplomacy that lead to successful results.

  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance and or Cyber Security a plus.

  • Physical security solutions experience a plus.

  • Strong understanding of our go-to-market strategy and sales philosophy is required.

  • Proven funnel development through aggressive prospecting.

  • Strong technical acumen and ability to speak towards our products and solutions; technical background to include networking protocols, network equipment configuration.

  • Proven record of achievement in delivering sales results and developing collaborative relationships.

  • Must be a self-motivated problem solver.

  • Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite is strongly desired.

  • Functional understanding of Microsoft and Google Apps, especially Excel/Sheets

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Time management skills are required, and candidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional presentation skills required. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to solve complex problems which may require unique solutions which are used across geographies, industries, etc.

  • Travel extensively throughout your assigned territory as required. We would expect this to exceed 50% of your time (this may include travel on short notice from time to time

  • Candidates must reside in the Territory. Approximately 50-75% of regional travel is required. Majority of travel within the territory will be by car, but some national & international air travel can be expected for tradeshows and sales conferences.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 10+ years of sales/public safety experience
