Outbound Sales Consultant
What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for providing consultative service and support to credit union members via the Member Contact Center. Work involves proactively reaching out to existing and potential credit union members to evaluate and identify the member’s financial needs with the aid of cross-sell triggers, and originating new accounts or making targeted referrals to internal business partners that result in deeper relationships, high levels of member satisfaction, and increased sales for the credit union in order to successfully achieve both individual and team targets. Resources to do the job require reliance on technical knowledge of credit union products, policy and procedures as well as exemplary member service skills. Immediate supervision is received from the Manager, Member Contact Center with additional strategic direction provided by the Manager, Lending.

Sales:
Proactively reach out to potential and existing credit union members via phone and email using provided contact lists to uncover needs for members that can be filled with credit union products.
Using needs-based sales techniques, discuss all products that could potentially deepen a members relationship with the credit union and provide greater financial value to the member.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding individual and team relationship sales targets.
Identify and evaluate member’s financial needs from members within the Sales Tracking and Referral System and recommend the appropriate product solutions and services using needs-based sales techniques.
Make qualified referrals for consumer loan, investment, insurance, and real estate lending products. Participate in targeted product campaigns and achieves product sales targets for deposit accounts, loans, and VISA originations.
Lending:
Processes loan applications by generating a loan application with member financial information derived from the member interview over the phone.
Insures loan applications are complete and meet credit union Quality Assurance standards.
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of High School, college degree preferred, and you have:
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in banking or customer service; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Previous sales experience preferred
- Basic math skills and good computer knowledge including typing skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate a professional phone manner and the ability to work independently Comfortable working a restrictive environment requiring extended periods of time at a fixed work position
- Secondary language skills desirable
