Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

The Academy expects to offer you:

Within your first 6 months

  • You will be expected to successfully complete the 6-week Foundations Academy Training Program
  • You will complete a role-based, on-the-job training with on-demand, self-paced curriculum for skills development, specifically catered to new graduates at VMware, comprised of video courses, quick guides and articles on popular development topics in addition to training modules, webinars and tech talks on many of VMware's tools, products and procedures.
  • Upon successful completion of the 6-month, on-the-job training you must be ready to serve customers as a Technical Account Manager



After 6 months+

  • You will be transitioned from the University Program to your hiring TAM Business
  • You will be expected to serve as a Technical Account Manager at half capacity, managing customers and working with your team, mentor and manager
  • You will be regularly evaluated on customer satisfaction, renewal rate, revenue and community contribution



What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you will build and maintain relationships with VMware's customers that have a real passion for technology and the opportunities that it can bring to our lives. At those customers, you will be a major focal point for everything that is related to VMware for different teams and levels from the most technical to the most senior executive. You will escort and guide them in their journey to be market leaders by using some of the newest and most advanced solutions in information technology.

You will also play a key part in representing your customers back to VMware, sharing their experience and wishes with the account teams, support and product managers, helping to shape future versions of our products and contribute your point of view for our shared success.

As a new member of the CS-TAM Team, you will:

  • Be there for your customers. Help them to build their business for success and transform from customers to partners to the digital journey
  • Like to think out of the box? Use your skills to help your customers to take their VMware solutions to the next level and to fully utilize all that our products can give them. Our customers love to see their investment being fulfilled and you will make sure that they do.
  • Help the customer to translate business requirements into technical solutions by building knowledge and understanding of the possibilities presented by different platforms and use cases.
  • Do you like connecting with people? Be the messenger that breaks down the corporate silos between different technical teams and business teams using simple language and personal skills.
  • When troubles come the TAM's rise! Not everything always goes smoothly. At those points, you will take leadership on the situation and help everyone to get back on track.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in the United States, with preference to those in the Eastern Time Zone, specifically Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey.
