The Post Close Business Developer role is a Director level position within the firm. This individual works in collaboration with Partners, Principals and Directors across the firm to help identify and proactively pursue potential opportunities and associated activities relating to RSM's Post Close Report delivery nationally. This professional will be focused on our existing client base. They will spearhead a process to ensure the firm maximizes the identification, coordination and pursuit of cross-line of business revenue opportunities to drive value after a due diligence transaction has been completed.

This role has a great deal of focus in the private equity space and will need to fully understand all aspects of the firms' private equity strategy and help drive the post close process to ensure the strategy is actualized. This role will need to work collaboratively with our Transaction Advisory leaders, service line resources, other business developers and account team members across the firm to coordinate and pursue all proposed client opportunities. They will be supported by Transaction Coordinators who can assist in CRM management and post close reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review deal documentation and conduct research to understand the strategic plans of the deal focus (relationships, industry, investment mandate, exit strategy, etc.)
  • Participate in weekly pull through team calls where deals are reviewed to help identify tasks and follow-up on assigned tasks
  • Deep understanding of the many solutions RSM and can articulate the value those services can provide to clients in connection with their transaction
  • Support Transaction Coordinators in report generation, CRM entries/maintenance and follow-up
  • Build and maintain strong sales pipeline and forecasts associated to opportunities identified
  • Support identification of potential opportunities
  • Develop value creation plans based on inputs from team members which identify potential post close opportunities and share with transaction advisory deal lead and account team members
  • Support entry of opportunities to the appropriate account and team members
  • Identify and lead a coordinated, cross functional team to pursue all aspects of the relationship
  • Identify and leverage key industry and technical resources to deploy on new opportunities
  • Actively pursue and follow-up on all opportunities with the prospect /client until closure
  • Identify and collaborate with other service line, business development and account team members to pursue opportunities
  • Prepare and facilitate presentations and proposals to support the pursuit
  • Accountable for ensuring accurate update, forecast and report on the opportunity pipeline monthly
  • Support generation of monthly pull through reporting


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional services experience required
  • Prior private equity knowledge and/or experience strongly preferred
  • Prior professional services experience (accounting or consulting) experience required
  • Demonstrated strategic thought process, experience and deployment capabilities
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization, time management and communication skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills - Candidate must possess the ability to provide thoughtful commentary and feedback for process improvement
  • Project management - Candidate must demonstrate ability to manage time, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork - Candidate must demonstrate experience in working as a productive member of a team
  • Tangible and demonstrated experience in formal sales process deployment and use
  • Candidates must have superior knowledge on the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM

  • Prior Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM experience in report generation and sales tracking

  • Strong organizational skills, need to be able to prioritize in a multi-task environment and be outcome oriented
