You will also assist the organization’s sales and growth efforts by contributing to new customer acquisition by building contacts with potential clients to create new business opportunities.


The Midmarket Account Director works with some of our largest, most strategic Midmarket prospects and clients, selling Yelp’s diverse advertising products. You will develop and work a sales territory and drive new business from prospecting to closing. To succeed in this role, you will need to have relevant digital advertising sales or media sales experience and a demonstrated track record of exceeding goals.


The Midmarket Account Director will drive the business forward through a focus on growing existing top clients as well as acquiring new strategic accounts. Reporting to the Regional Director, Midmarket Sales in NY, this individual will serve as an elite individual contributor and strategic thinker with responsibilities in both the pre and post-sale aspects of the business. This role offers significant career growth opportunities within Yelp’s Multi-Location Sales team!

Where You Come In:

  • You will impact Yelp’s Midmarket business which is in its early stages and growing fast!
  • You will work across a territory of strategic clients while prospecting for new accounts that are a strong fit for Yelp’s advertising solutions
  • You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing to create new business partnership opportunities
  • You will map client organizations and build relationships with multiple contacts focusing on decision-makers
  • You will understand clients’ business objectives and challenges and align Yelp’s proven advertising solutions to accomplish their goals
  • You will partner with clients to develop a cohesive local strategy utilizing Yelp’s branding & conversion products, local search campaigns and customer engagement tools
  • You will identify budgets within clients’ organizations tied to driving in-store sales to fund new Yelp campaigns
  • You will collaborate with Yelp’s Account Management and Client Partner teams to ensure strong client experiences and program performance post-sale

What it Takes to Succeed:

  • You have 5+ years experience in Midmarket, National, or Enterprise Sales
  • You have digital advertising sales or media sales experience
  • You have a strong track record of exceeding revenue targets and comfortable closing $100,000+ deals
  • You are eager to grow your career and tackle new challenges with a clear desire to have a meaningful impact on Yelp’s revenue and client set!
  • You have a demonstrated ability to use strategic selling skills
  • You are comfortable with executive level outreach and communication to National and Enterprise Accounts
  • You have strong time management skills, creative problem solver and self-sufficient worker
  • You have an understanding of online media and metrics
  • You have had experience presenting over the phone and in-person to large size groups
  • You are proficient in Powerpoint, Excel and Salesforce
  • You have the ability to travel 25%

Other Requirements:

  • You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this role. Exceptions are made only where legally required.
