About the job
The Red Hat Market Development team is looking for a Market Development Representative to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the Marketing and Sales teams to contact prospective sales leads, qualify them, and set up appointments for Red Hat's sales teams and solutions architects. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing team and be part of a new strategic initiative within the Sales team.
What you will do

  • Follow up on inbound marketing leads
  • Cross collaborative work with the Sales and Marketing teams to uncover sales leads in new territories through cold calls
  • Identify customer business needs and communicate how Red Hat's offerings can address those needs
  • Collaborate with the Sales team on account strategy
  • Make extensive use of successful prospecting techniques to generate customer interest
  • Develop understanding of Red Hat's technology, offerings, pricing, and licensing procedure


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or related work experience or academic projects in sales, marketing, or information systems
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and systems like Salesforce.com (SFDC) or Outreach
  • Willingness to travel as needed, following COVID-19 guidelines
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive approach
  • Demonstrated success in previous roles
  • Desire to make a positive impact on Red Hat's strategic mission
  • Curiosity to learn and grow
  • Ability to work and learn both on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand customer issues and needs and align them with Red Hat's offerings
  • Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels
