Job Description:
This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a highly ambitious new team driving the adoption of world class SMB solutions throughout the US.
A champion for SMBs and our organisation, demonstrating deep knowledge and passion for their local geography, the challenges of small businesses and the solutions to help them succeed.
The Market Development Manager is responsible for stimulating demand for Zettle products and services across their territory, by increasing our awareness and credibility within small business communities. A field-based role, responsible for targeting, qualifying and closing SMB single & multi-site operators. This includes building an extensive network through identification and activation of local partnerships, as well as protecting and growing revenues of a high value account portfolio.
Core Competencies:

  • Key account acquisition - end to end responsibility of the sales cycle, including identifying strategic new business opportunities within a specific segment/geographical focus.
  • Detailed understanding of Zettle core segments, solutions landscape, market trends and competitors are required
  • Ability to plan, build and maintain a large pipeline of new business and local partnership prospects
  • Ability to confidently consult and present to prospective merchants and partners on key business solutions and the Zettle value proposition
  • Responsible for early life account management of new customers and the retention of a limited portfolio of high value accounts
  • Supporting overall Market Development and Geo Strategy objectives (one of the pillars of the go-to-market-strategy) via individual projects and initiatives, as well as providing valuable insight and feedback for internal departments/forums
  • Identify and act on new commercial opportunities for Zettle/Paypal


Directly reporting to Regional Lead.
Experience:

  • Minimum 1+ years sales experience required - outbound preferential
  • Ideally BA/BS degree or equivalent
