Manager, Business Development
Our team is looking for a high energy, driven, and effective Manager, Business Development to manage a team of Business Development Representatives who generate unique leads, follow up on inbound inquiries to develop a relationship and understand the requirements for new contacts and companies, product-fit analysis, and pre-call research. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising and coaching Business Development Representatives and play an integral role in formulating go-to-market strategies, as well as territory and prospect sourcing strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Achieve and exceed established sales quota
- Partner with Vice President, Business Development to establish, implement, execute, measure, and improve Unanet’s business development strategy and associated programs
- Lead day-to-day operations of Unanet’s Business Development teams
- Understand and capably articulate the breadth and value of Unanet’s product portfolio
- Participate in sales program training sessions, meetings, skill-building and professional development courses
- Hire, manage, develop, and mentor Business Development Representatives
- Assist in identifying lead sources, constructing prospect lists, and shadowing and scoring calls
- Collaborate with Vice President, Business Development on programs and processes that drive pipeline
- Provide analysis and reporting on team performance as well as accurate forecasts based on individual representative performance and historical trends leveraging CRM
Your First 90 Days
In your first 30 days you will learn the company’s solutions, target market, and key profiles. You will meet with your existing team, peers, and leadership. You will start to learn our current systems, tools, assets, and messaging.
In your first 60 days you will review your team’s previous performance, listen to their past calls to establish their baselines, partner with your peers and Senior BDRs to help with ramping your new hires, and form your plan to help the individuals and the team to improve their performance.
In your first 90 days you will review your plan and the months results with your leadership, make tweaks as needed to your team and plan, and be fully ramped at or above quota by the end of the 90 days.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in B2B software
- Experience hiring, managing, and developing a team of Business Development Representatives
- Demonstrated history of exceeding revenue quota
- Proven experience prospecting via cold calling, email, and other digital communication mediums
- A strong proficiency with cold outreach, discovery questions, objection handling, articulating value proposition, and time management
- Proven ability to write effective emails, call scripts, and cadences with high conversion rates
- Ability to quickly and successfully ramp early career Business Development Representatives
Differentiators
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, specifically Salesforce
