ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, you will be in the driver’s seat of launching and growing some of the most visible partnerships at BlueVine, working with some of the most innovative and reputable companies in the world. You will exercise both creativity and disciplined execution to drive meaningful revenue for BlueVine and for partners. You will identify new opportunities, motivate partners, and pitch for investment internally to make your ideas come to life. You will also play a key role in defining how the Business Development team evolves over time and delivers results for BlueVine.

BlueVine is on a strong trajectory with lots of room for growth, and the ideal candidate for this role will be similarly growth-oriented. This is a role for someone with demonstrated analytical ability, executive savvy, intellectual curiosity, and a strong urge to build value for customers, teammates, and partners. It is a good fit for aspiring operators, entrepreneurs, or investors - anyone who wants to gain expertise and understanding in what it takes to deliver large-scale business outcomes.

This is not a fully remote role. At BlueVine, we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, which we believe is best maintained through in-person interactions and a vibrant office environment.  All of our offices will reopen in accordance with local guidelines, and will follow a hybrid model.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage a portfolio of BlueVine’s most visible strategic partnerships
  • Own meaningful revenue, customer acquisition, and other key outcomes for BlueVine and for partners
  • Gain the confidence with everyone you work with, at all levels of the partner’s organization
  • Be incredibly close to performance data and use insights to drive decisions
  • Anticipate and manage operational and organizational risks that could put things off-course
  • Collaborate with our Product, Marketing, Risk, Customer Success, and Communications teams to drive outcomes
  • Leverage successes and failures to develop repeatable frameworks

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in strategic partnerships, business development, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital
  • Past experience executing distribution, product, and/or brand partnerships with demonstrated outcomes preferred. If you are coming from an advisory background (e.g., management consulting or banking), project experience with measurable outcomes strongly preferred
  • Experience presenting to C-suite and executive leadership at large organizations
  • Data-driven orientation with ability to efficiently and quickly draw insights (and avoid analysis paralysis)
  • A strong intuition for interpersonal and organizational dynamics
  • Careful attention to detail in every work product and interaction
  • Deep desire to grow: curiosity to identify areas of development, and receive and give feedback
  • BA/BS required
  • Experience in and excitement about fintech or small businesses a plus

BENEFITS & PERKS:

  • Receive over $1,000 annually for a wellness benefit of your choice
  • Monthly WFH Stipend
  • Generous PTO and holidays
  • Excellent health coverage and life insurance benefits
  • Generous, paid parental leave which covers up to 15 weeks
  • 401K with an immediate 3% company match

Once we Return to Office:

  • Free commuter benefits - CalTrain passes for SF employees and a monthly parking allowance
  • Weekly catered lunches
  • Unlimited snacks in fully stocked kitchens
  • Pet-friendly HQ
