Manager Agency Accounts

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Agency Accounts Manager, are to:

  • Lead the business planning process, establishing goals and objectives for third party sales agency ensuring alignment to category strategies, brand strategies and annual trade objectives;
  • Lead and direct agency in customer business planning process to ensure customer plans align to trade strategy and deliver on annual and long-term priorities with focus on Retail controllable best practices to identify opportunities, Digital integration, Shopper marketing initiatives;
  • Facilitate and ensure divisional synergies are leveraged between Sales agent portfolio and balance of Bayer portfolio;
  • Maximize impact of trade fund investment;
  • Manage conflicts, as needed for achievement of annual goals;
  • Monitor/track competitive activity and identify needs/implications;
  • Measure in market performance to ensure execution of annual business plans through successful sell-in and execution of the retail controllable across Bayer's categories in assortment, promotion, pricing, shelving;
  • Track and monitor performance leveraging scorecards to measure aligned to objectives including volume, trade fund management, controllable execution, shopper initiatives, etc.;
  • Ensure corrective action is taken if expectations are not met;
  • Hold Sales Agent accountable to delivery of agreed to objectives;
  • Ensure efficient use of Sales agent and Bayer resources through effective communication ensuring needed selling support such as executional materials, selling stories, supporting research, etc. are provided in a timely manner to support Sales agent efforts;
  • Share knowledge, understanding and management of support resources including customer marketing, customer and shopper solutions, category and shopper solutions, selfcare solutions, commercial strategy and sales operations;
  • Support selling at Customer level engaging in headquarter calls as needed as part of Customer engagement plan;
  • Participate in key strategic meetings with customers (such as top-to-tops) as the primary interface with customer executives;
  • Act as Sales agent liaison to HQ Commercial Strategy and Brand for ongoing communication of category, brand, customer and/or channel issues, Bayer business-building opportunities, and volume forecast including risk and opportunity assessment;
  • Supervise direct report including project prioritization and focus on development through training, coaching and feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least eight years of progressive sales experience in the consumer package goods industry OR at least five years of progressive sales experience in the consumer package goods industry with at least one year of management of $100mm+ in customer volume;
  • At least four years of experience building strategic business plans that utilize specific resources (i.e., people, time and money) in the accomplishment of corporate sales volume and profit goals;
  • General Manager mindset with focus on Customer P&L's;
  • Build effective teams, cultivate innovation, learning and change agility, customer focus, action oriented/drive results, collaborate globally and locally, plan and align, drive stakeholder engagement, effectively manage suppliers;
  • Excellent financial management skills to critically assess strategic goals and cost investments versus results;
  • Ability to streamline operational processes;
  • Experience in a basic understanding of brand P&Ls, ROI, and budget management;
  • Understand the customer and the marketplace;
  • Exceptional knowledge of retailer landscape and how to impact the total market;
  • Understand the impact of individual decisions to Bayer's total business and relevant long term implications;
  • Prior direct selling leadership experience with a top national retailer and sales strategy or sales operations experience;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including delivering concise presentations, while being able to work well within a team environment, building strong relations and showing organizational agility;
  • Proven experience in influence management;
  • Proven ability to develop win-win solutions to complex situations;
  • Superior problem solving skills;
  • Robust analytical capabilities across a variety of data sources and platforms with ability to translate into action-minded recommendations;
  • Advanced computer literacy skill (MS Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Ability to travel as required.
