In this position, you will be involved in current operations for the Next Generation Tactical Data Link (NGTDL) and Multi-functional Information Distribution System (MIDS) business areas, working with the International Government and industry partners, and providing leadership to the Viasat team. This role requires strong leadership and customer intimacy skills. You'll take pride in the work we do for our military and International partners, and it will show in your diligence to make things happen.

Your Business Development expertise, Strategic Insight and passion will be integral to help us design new communication equipment, networks, and service existing programs. You will work directly with our customers to define future system requirements and will work with our Program Managers and Engineers to find practical solutions meeting both internal and customer requirements. You will be a primary point of contact for all market and future customer communications within the team providing best-of-class service and support throughout the entire program lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee Business Development aspects of the business strategy to ensure alignment with our business goals
  • Find and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
  • Support, International Service Users and businesses in their profitable usage of our technology
  • Oversee KPIs to assess market performance
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders to suggest necessary improvements and adjustments to our products
  • Lead the Middle East and selected other countries Business Development strategy
  • Maintain current customer relationships and develop new customer contacts
  • Write whitepapers, lead proposals, provide presentations and meet with customers to promote or products and services as solutions to operational and business needs
  • Particular emphasis will be spent on export regulation compliance, including the fulfillment of Technical Assistance Agreements and the successful application for numerous export licenses.



Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years relevant experience working with military users (international or domestic)
  • Knowledge of international government procurement trends to build strategy
  • Proven government and customer acquisition experience
  • Ability to work with Engineering and program management teams to synthesize between customer requirements to high level/low level system requirements and design specifications
  • Experience with Link 16 operations, platform integration, and certification requirements
  • Have led and supported Business Development and strategic initiative teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Deals with US Government Products/programs
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50%
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance



Preferences

  • Fluent in Arabic
  • Experience with Government systems, Service acquisition, and customer approvals
  • Knowledge and experience working with foreign (non-U.S.) agencies responsible for Foreign Military Sales and the deployment of communications and networking technologies for foreign coalition forces


If the Federal Executive Order for Government Contractors becomes effective, this role may require vaccination. In such instance, absent an approved accommodation based on a religious or medical reason, employees in this role will be required to be fully vaccinated no later than applicable deadlines, which are unknown at this point. The starting salary for this position is $136,225 annually, but an offered salary may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
