Inside Sales Engineer
Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Technical Sales and Marketing department of METTLER TOLEDO AutoChem ( www.mt.com/autochem ) needs a self-motivated, ambitious team player to fill our technical Inside Sales Engineer role at our Columbia, MD facility. We are looking for people who love science and technology, and excel at building dynamic relationships with people and are interested in expanding their commercial and business skills. Ideal candidates are problem solvers with a strong chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry background who will accept challenges, ask questions, research, and engage our customers. This position will be responsible for managing the technical sales activities and generating leads that convert to sales opportunities. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing leads by researching new companies, new contacts, contact history, and contact application experience based on specific targeted Industry, Segment, and Application criteria
- Executing Inside Sales campaigns and provide immediate visibility for all leads to the local Account Management and TAC teams
- Supporting and executing various product and application campaign initiatives to increase the number and quality of leads passed to the field. Track the success using CRM.
- Managing all aspects of lead nurturing program. Coordinating cross functional input from Database Analyst, eMarketing, Product Marketing, and Sales to ensure the correct target lists, content marketing, and communication script/email are applied.
- Support, communicate, and build effective relationships with field sales. Collaborate with Account Managers and agree on the communication with suspects, prospects, and customers.
- Oversee lead triage, prioritization and allocation process
- Build rapport with prospects on the phone, online chat, and via email. Pass all leads to the field on a timely basis. Provide basic technical information and explanations for the complete AutoChem product and application offerings.
- Develop technical and application proficiency with all METTLER TOLEDO AutoChem products and core applications
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering or other related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years industry experience in sales or marketing that involved direct verbal and written customer communication, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in downstream processing activities and experience in developing and designing downstream processes, preferred.
- Consultative selling knowledge and experience, a plus
- Excellent organization, time and multi-task management skills
- Open and effective communication style, strong people skills and the ability to interact with individuals that work with high-value technology-based products and solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work within a cooperative team environment and focus on objectives with minimal direct supervision
- Analytical, assertiveness, creativity and effective problem solving skills
- Solid database skills a priority as well as proficiency with on-line tools
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% to support business development and participate in trade shows, conferences and technical user forums
- Working knowledge of CRM systems especially in a B2B business.
- Experience with SAP is a plus
