In this role you'll provide thought leadership to a global team of Customer Success Engineers who guide our customers to accelerate their adoption of the Databricks platform, ensuring customers receive the value anticipated. A primary goal is to ensure global CSEs are highly productive while providing industry-leading service to our customers. 

This role, reporting to the Vice President of Customer Success, provides strategic leadership to develop and run programs for the customer lifecycle from onboarding through adoption, expansion, and renewal. You will engage with Customer Success Engineers and collaborate internally across teams to ensure that new Databricks products, best practices for implementation, and recommended customer engagement strategies are included in materials that CSEs use with customers. You will stay updated with product developments, design new procedures and playbooks for CSEs, and provide ongoing enablement to a global team of CSEs. You will empower the CSE team to execute effectively on growth and retention programs for Databricks customers globally.

The impact you will have:

  • Define and develop global programs that help customers to fully integrate Databricks into their modern data architecture.
  • Manage a small team of individuals to carry out development and maintenance of customer presentations, internal knowledge resources, and to roll out global programs.
  • Provide thought leadership on implementation best practices, and design procedures and playbooks for CSEs to use with customers.
  • Provide coaching and training for CSEs to develop their technical and professional skills, with emphasis on building competence for new CSEs.
  • Recommend improvements to standard procedures for managing customer adoption. Stay connected with important Customer User Journeys and persona-based journeys. Incorporate support of those journeys into CSE materials and playbooks.
  • Specify and supervise improvements to customer-facing presentations and internal resources for  CSEs to leverage. Ensure CSE onboarding materials are kept current with changes to Databricks processes and product positioning. 
  • Collaborate across teams to incorporate all Databricks resources into CSE communications - Professional Services, Customer Advocacy, Strategic Partner teams, Business Value teams, Industry specialists, and others.
  • Identify repeatable programs and value added engagements that can be performed consistently to help scale how the team operates.

What we look for:

  • 7+ years experience working directly with customers and partners in the big data and Analytics/ML domain
  • 5+ years experience management experience in Customer Success, technical consulting, or technical customer education
  • Experience managing adoption within Databricks customers.
  • Experience teaching professionals and developing technical content.
  • Willingness to travel as the business requires.
