JOB DESCRIPTION

Our team is looking for a passionate Federal Account Manager to help expand our fast growing government business! In this role, you will build our government network and generate new opportunities with federal agencies to ultimately help government leaders get better tech into their missions. This role offers the opportunity to have impact at a fast paced start-up without the bureaucracy of large government contractors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development and Community Growth

• Support the growth of our government community and business by developing strategic relationships across the federal government innovation ecosystem
• Identify and close new opportunities to provide Dcode’s products and advisory services to federal program offices and agencies
• Work with federal industry partners to identify teaming opportunities and negotiate subcontractor agreements
• Work with our Tech Engagement teams to identify government opportunities to connect and drive revenue for our portfolio of emerging technology companies that have graduated from the Dcode accelerator program
• Lead the development of and/or contribute to Dcode white papers and proposals that help the government learn how to be more innovative and attract emerging technology
• Develop and maintain sales pipelines, engagement strategies, and opportunity tracking processes

Research

• Scope and direct research on agency budgets, technology needs, trend reports, and solicitations to support and inform Dcode of contract opportunities
• Conduct market research to identify federal opportunities both direct to government and through Dcode’s systems integrator partners

Innovation and Strategy Support

• Develop a deep understanding of the needs that the federal government has related to innovation and technology, as well as collaborate with Dcode product teams to develop new product offerings
• Assist in the development of Dcode’s growth strategy, as well as develop and execute call plans to identify new customers and emerging opportunities

You’ll learn something new every day in this role, and no two days will look exactly the same. We’ll teach you the ropes but ideal candidates will have:

• 5+ years of recent and relevant work experience focusing on Federal business development
• Passion and enthusiasm about technology, government, and startups 
• Demonstrated sales experience related to the Federal market and teaming with larger contractors
• Knowledge and experience writing proposals, as well as with securing Federal contracts and subcontracts with teaming partners
• An ability to listen to customers and discern needs
• The ability to work without being closely managed and continuously ‘wow’
• Proven problem-solving, self-management, and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willing and able to support operations in a fast-paced environment
