PayPal currently seeks a talented and entrepreneurial Account Executive to join the North American PayPal team based in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This represents an exciting opportunity to join, learn and grow in our enthusiastic team. As an Expansion Market Account Executive, you will contribute to the growth of PayPal's acceptance of online & offline merchants in PayPal's largest market, get to work with fast-growing merchants seeking guidance on how to take their business to the next level.

We are looking for someone with selling experience who uses a consultative sales approach to help small and medium sized merchants scale their business through payment acceptance and optimizing checkout experiences to convert more customers. A dedicated and motivated individual who can help drive revenue growth while creating the basis for long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating all aspects of the strategic B2B sales process and will help to deliver a value-based sales proposition to decision-makers while providing a strategic vision on consumer engagement and acquisition.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow a defined sales process to learn and understand the challenges that small and medium sized business owners face and recommend solutions based on their needs.
  • Listen attentively to customer needs and concerns; demonstrate empathy while overcoming customer objections
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to close the deal while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Meet and exceed established productivity goals
  • Utilize Salesforce to log, track, and maintain customer records
  • Manage client relationships from lead to "live to site" and onwards in conjunction with an Account Manager and Relationship Manager.
  • Build strong working relationships with PayPal team (Finance, Pricing, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Product and Integration) to enable an efficient interaction between PayPal and the merchant and its end users.
  • Gain and demonstrate wide professional knowledge of the payments industry and its sector to the merchant through a consultative selling approach.
  • Closely work with Product, Marketing and Risk teams to enhance PayPal's value proposition and design tailored solutions.

Job requirements:

  • A quick learner who can embrace the opportunity to develop new skills with support of highly collaborative team.
  • Existing working experience in sales, business development or consulting within a fast-paced and target-oriented environment.
  • Proven track record in sales attainment required.
  • Knowledge of ecommerce, retail, or payment industry, and genuine interest in digital, mobile commerce and innovation.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills: comfortable presenting and negotiating with e-commerce managers/directors and senior executives (CxO) via the phone, video conferences or in person as needed.
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills; comfortable in a complex selling environment with multiple decision makers at many levels both internally and externally.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a positive, creative and innovative mindset.
  • A team player with great interpersonal, cross-cultural, communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience in a particular vertical and/or bringing forward an idea which resulted in a material impact to PayPal's financial success.
  • Other areas demonstrating a "above and beyond mentality".
  • Demonstration of all PayPal expected behaviors, positive/ownership mentality required.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple opportunities at once.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2+ years of sales experience required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Ability to effectively manage a pipeline and be an organized administrator working within a defined sales process.
  • Provide continued momentum and focus throughout short, medium and long sales cycles.
  • Develop rapport through telephone and video meetings to move discussions forward by demonstrating company's value.
  • Good team player with collaborative approach and ability to forge constructive relationships quickly whilst being able to work alone and deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the status of a deal to internal management included senior leadership with realistic timelines and hurdles to the overall success of a particular deal.
  • Ability to provide a realistic outlook of your overall book of business to management and senior leadership.
  • Ability to accurately forecast launch dates and launch plans around specific deals to manager and senior leadership.
