Job Description
The Executive Relationship Manager is responsible for leading the sales, business development, and client management efforts for merchants within one or more assigned industry verticals (portfolio). This vertical specifically focuses on Transportation and Delivery Services so experience with these verticals (or contactless payments deployment) is highly preferred. He/she develops and executes key objectives associated with the industry, including an emphasis on driving/protecting incremental revenue, improving market share, and enhancing the customer experience while maximizing profitability against key initiative and goal priorities.
Responsibilities
· As a key initiative, responsible for the contactless payments deployment activities for major transit authorities within the US to ensure parity of acceptance is maintained.
· Develops and executes client management strategies and represents DFS as the strategic liaison and central point of contact.
· Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key decision-makers across all divisions of the assigned strategic account portfolio.
· Ensures DGN is fully enabled/accepted with in all regions where merchant operates e-commerce or point of sale storefronts.
· Acts as the industry expert and is responsible for one or more industry verticals (specifically focused on Transportation and delivery services), and mentors other teammates. Owns and coordinates team activities against key initiatives and goal priorities.
· Presents and executes marketing and promotional initiatives to increase sales and grows market share.
· Manages and implements operational initiatives and ensures full compliance with Discover process(es).
· Participates in industry events, organizations, and association-related events/conferences.
· Travel approximately 25% (as required by clients)
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, or related field
· 6+ years of experience in Account Relationship Management, Negotiation, Payments, or related field
· In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Account Relationship Management, Negotiation, Payments, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

· Master's Degree in Business, or related field
· Experience with contactless payment deployment or mobile wallets deployment
· Sales/Business development/client management experience
· Payment services experience/knowledge
· Experience from transit integrators or shared ride services
· Curious/ability to dive deep into managing high priorities/highly visible projects
· Strong executive presence and ability to influence internally and externally (clients)
