Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud and data center design and migration patterns including network, compute/mainframe, virtualization, storage, security, and identity
  • Experience architecting, sizing, and costing cloud solutions
  • Experience with enterprise virtualization technologies
  • Experience in a technical architecture or sales engineering role



Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field
  • Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and/or big data technologies
  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies, migrations, and proposals, including organizational alignment and change management best practices
  • Experience with development operations and/or site reliability engineering (SRE)
  • Knowledge of IP and storage/application networking (e.g., Software Defined Networking, Linux, Domain Name System, Storage Area Network) technologies

In this role, you will contribute thought leadership to support Google Cloud Sales teams, driving roadmaps, missions, and strategies for data center migration and digital transformation. You'll meet with customers to facilitate business transformations, success patterns, and establish an architectural blueprint as the foundation for migration to Google Cloud.

You will identify and assess customer infrastructure to uncover solutions, recommending, planning, and addressing core market opportunities and use cases. You'll enable customers, partners, and field teams on ways to position data center solutions on Google Cloud, explain technical features, problem-solve potential roadblocks, and advise on operational approaches. You will travel to customer sites and events up to 40% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and key customer technical challenges, developing a strategy to resolve technical issues.
  • Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, and application architecture needed to successfully implement a complete solution using Google Cloud best practices.
  • Assist Infrastructure Solutions Management teams, contributing to solution and use case assets.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing application/infrastructure environments and organizational readiness. Identify potential use cases for cloud computing and paths to digital transformation.
  • Develop architectural blueprints to enable infrastructure, High Performance Computing (HPC), and mainframe migration opportunities, coordinating with Product and Specialist teams.
