EDGE Program, Technical Sales and Consulting: Account Manager

Rockwell Automation's Technical Sales & Consulting Program is a world-class, multi-month training program consisting of a combination of sales, technical and professional training that take place in both classroom and on-the-job settings. Join a cohort of peers from all over the world and embark on a journey to become a trusted outcome-based seller. After completion of the training program, Associates are placed in one of our field sales offices across North America.

Account Manager:

Our NA Sales team prioritizes our customers' needs and our employees' success. The position of Account Manager is crucial to our organization. As a member of our Outside Sales team, you will build relationships with the world's producers and work in partnership with customers, OEMs, systems integrators, and industry partners to solve unique challenges in industry. The Account Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans to meet or exceed annual sales goals and grow market share. This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at assigned accounts and growing customer spend with Rockwell Automation by clearly defining business value and aligning our capabilities to the customer's desired outcomes.

What you will do

  • Create a vision of what is possible. See beyond today. Understand the market, understand the trends, understand your customer. Connect the dots and paint a picture of how we help them attain what's possible.
  • Become the trusted advisor your customers need. Understand their industry, organization, and business drivers so well that you can offer guidance on their strategic initiatives and how our offerings and partner capabilities will help them achieve those goals.
  • Collaborate and own it. "It" being the strategy for growing your accounts. You'll work with Industry Managers and your broader account team, senior management and domain expert team to plan for and win opportunities.
  • Network and build relationships. Your goal is to open doors up and across your customers' organizations, establishing and maintaining rapport with stakeholders from the plant floor to the C-suite.
  • Influence decisions. You'll qualify customer opportunities, engage resources, and coordinate the solution design and presentation so the customer chooses our solution for all the right reasons.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Must be location flexible



Preferred qualifications

  • Previous intern experience with Rockwell Automation, our Partner Network, or our customers
  • Demonstrated record of interpersonal skills and leadership ability
  • Previous co-op or intern experience in manufacturing or customer-facing role
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration
