Be part of our mission to disrupt healthcare and democratize the data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a Director, Strategic Partnerships to join the Business Development team at our Boston site in the United States.

Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you will be responsible for cultivating a network of enterprise partners to advance our strategic vision and accelerate growth. You will identify, secure, and manage collaboration opportunities between SOPHiA and a myriad of partners including diagnostic / reagent / instrumentation players, labs, distribution / channel partners, and various other entities that generate relevant multi-modal data. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker who does not need to operate linearly and who can think outside the box to develop win-win partnerships. Additionally, this role will support alliance management between SOPHiA and strategic partners, coordinating a highly cross-functional project team to execute the partnership objectives and interfacing with external counterparts.

Your Main Tasks Will Be:

• Work closely with the Business, Technology, Commercial / Operations, Finance, Legal and Medical teams to understand and prioritize partnership needs, in support of the Company’s strategy
• Proactively identify opportunities where a potential partner’s capabilities are complementary or synergistic with SOPHiA’s technology and could create win-win opportunities

• Represent SOPHiA to partners externally and develop targeted material for presentations, including company and product overviews, and overview of business priorities
• Create tools and planning processes that help us make better decisions
• Partner with leadership to gain internal conviction and champion new opportunities
• Develop and implement business development playbook for pipeline and deal execution
• Generate and support negotiation of term sheets and definitive agreements for new collaborations which have been reviewed with the cross functional executive team

• Collaborate with alliance management for executed programs to ensure and monitor achievement of aligned goals as well as identify further areas of expansion
• Coordinate partner due diligence assessments collaborating with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• 7+ years in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships or similar (preferably at a venture stage company that is relevant to SOPHiA)
• BA or BS required; MBA preferred
• Experience with Business Development, Contract Negotiation, and Strategy Development
• Strong program / project management: comfort managing projects with numerous ongoing work streams involving a wide range of stakeholders - both internal and external
• Understanding of the data driven medicine industry; strong interest in increasing the usage of AI and ML applications within healthcare; Many strong connections across the industry

• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Strategic mindset that is highly analytical and detail-oriented
• Ability to distill massive amounts of complex information into digestible formats that lead to productive discussions
• Self-starter, low-ego, mentality and a willingness to always go the extra mile with an Entrepreneurial mindset
