IDT is the market leader in the manufacture of custom oligonucleotides and other synthetic nucleic acid products that fuel a wide variety of genomics applications. A select group of Strategic Accounts have been identified for additional focus within the commercial team to drive growth and proactively anticipate trends in existing and new applications. As the Director, Strategic Accounts you will be responsible for the strategy development and execution as well as the promotion, and sales of IDT's full portfolio of custom oligonucleotide solutions across key application areas such as Next Generation Sequencing, Molecular Diagnostics, Synthetic Biology, and qPCR.

As the Director of Strategic Accounts, you will leverage your extensive existing high-level contacts within the targeted accounts while developing new strategic contacts to meet your objectives. This role requires strategic planning and consistent delivery of customer value and satisfaction, while managing and driving customer partnerships, consultations, and scientific collaborations within the assigned organizations and with IDT stakeholders, to achieve product line specific and overall revenue growth goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform sales analysis and builds out forecast models based on product type/application, customer segment and geographic region
  • Track and trend competitive market share for select markets and products
  • Maintain documentation of key competitors' product offerings including options, pricing, and positioning
  • Assist with pricing optimization efforts
  • Develop and deliver accurate, timely, and actionable recommendations based on informal questions and requests
  • Identify, engage with, manage and strengthen relationships with KOL's, senior level executives' / strategic decision makers, and procurement within the defined Strategic Accounts.
  • Develop and map defined Strategic Accounts within Strategic Accounts Playbooks.
  • Track and quantify interactions, high-level meetings and presentations at defined accounts including tracking of activities of local Sales Associates' interactions.
  • Help prepare for and participate in either quarterly, semi-annual, or annual executive business reviews with Strategic Accounts.
  • Help negotiate supply agreements and RFPs when advantageous for IDT
  • Report, track and quantify risk at assigned Strategic Accounts and develop countermeasures to negate the effects.
  • Participate in regular funnel management calls with leadership and local Sales Associates.
  • Work with Senior Management and local Sales Associates to establish Global Pricing Governance within assigned Strategic Accounts.
  • Participate in coaching and mentoring of all Sales Associates assigned to Strategic Accounts as well as customer calls and visits.
  • Establish and leverage strong cross-functional relationships within IDT and even other Danaher Operating Companies to elevate Voice of Customer in defined Strategic Accounts.
  • Drive collaborations to gain market share and potential new product development.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to achieve product specific growth targets at Strategic Accounts and identify holes in product lines to meet customer applications requirements
  • Identify high value targets and product lines within Strategic Accounts

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, genomics or life science related discipline preferred (or combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum 5 years' sales/business experience
  • High level life sciences business acumen
  • Demonstrated success in achieving growth targets and penetration of Strategic Accounts
  • Strong CRM acumen. SFDC knowledge is preferred
