Mailchimp is seeking a Director of Sales Operations to manage a Sales Operation team. This position will report to the VP of Customer Operations, but will interface directly with the VP of Sales. You will have a rare opportunity to build a Sales Operation team from the ground up to support our expanding inside sales team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the Ops strategy, aligned with the Sales vision, coordinate investments, create globally scalable programs and enhance the operational rigor within our teams in order to help our channel ecosystem deliver the right solutions to customers at scale while achieving organizational objectives.

The Sales Operations team is responsible for playbook and process development, reporting and forecasting, as well as commission structure and implementation.  This team will work closely with the Education team to develop detailed training and refresher courses and with Finance, Marketing and Strategy to develop promotions and or incentives.

What you’ll do here: 

  • You will execute performance tracking, planning, forecasting, and target setting.
  • You will identify and unlock growth initiatives by working with cross-functional teams.
  • You will co-own long-range planning and strategy processes for our Sales Teams.
  • You will act as liaison with finance and other key stakeholders to drive investment decisions.
  • You will provide decision support to the Customer Leadership Team.

We’d love to hear from you if: 

  • You have 7+ years of experience in a Sales Support, Consulting, or Operations role.
  • You have a proven track record in Strategy and Operations leadership roles.
  • You have demonstrated leadership in delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams.
  • You have superb communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You can set strategy at a high level and roll up your sleeves to execute where needed.
  • You have high energy, a positive attitude, and the ability to take the initiative and delegate efficiently.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, frequently changing, and evolving environment.
  • You can multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively towards individual, team, and company goals.
  • You have a proven track record of establishing and managing compensation and sales operations with an emphasis on managing and optimizing incentive programs to balance outcomes vs expenses.
  • You have experience in process improvement; lean startup or design thinking a plus.
  • You have exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions, and craft high quality executive presentations.
