This position is responsible for maximizing the Hanesbrands Inc. sales volume, profit recovery and inventory liquidation for both continuity, excess and obsolete inventory. The customers include the big 3 off-price retailers (TJX, Ross and Burlington), closeout distributors, overseas liquidators, and also includes a donation process for closeouts. Closeouts represent a significant volume for Hanesbrands Inc. and successfully managing this volume directly impacts HBI's overall financial performance. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to assess the opportunities across the landscape and build a strategic plan for the sell-off of closeouts to maximize both topline sales and profit recovery, leveraging all outlets and a mix of products to achieve expected results. In addition, the successful incumbent will demonstrate a management style which handles complex interaction within the HBI internal matrix organization.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed HBI's distribution objectives for improved volume, profits, and speed of inventory sell-off.
  • Develop and drive strategic approach to selling closeout inventory across the account landscape to grow volume in the categories where HBI competes.
  • Leverage HBI cross-category opportunities to maximize sales/distribution and to leverage best financial recovery across the HBI product portfolio.
  • Manage overall account specific profitability targets to maximize impact of financial investments while achieving financial objectives.
  • Research opportunity to expand the customer base for closeout inventory.
  • Build innovative merchandising plans for key product categories during must win timeframes that are outside the standard practices of the off-price retailers store environment.
  • Effectively interface with HBI management cross-functionally as well as account cross-functional management.
  • Develop an integrated relationship with key account management personnel that enhance HBI's position. Primary points of contact include GMM/DMM/VP/Director level for Merchandising.
  • Lead new business processes to create a competitive edge and to establish HBI as supplier of choice.
  • Seek and disseminate competitive intelligence of importance, including competitors' pricing, programs, sales techniques, operational techniques, etc.
  • Effectively lead and manage the HBI team members and facilitate achievement of established goals within budgets, policies, and corporate objectives.
  • Create succession planning and career development opportunities for team members.



Qualifications

  • BS/BA required;
  • 5+ years sales management or retail management experience
  • CPG and/or apparel background strongly preferred
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership, strategic, negotiation and influencing skills
