Role Summary

The Director of Sales for Magna Lighting Americas has overall responsibility for marketing and sales of multiple product lines across domestic and international regions ensuring attainment of revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, controls and directs the activities of the sales teams to achieve maximum sales volume from designated markets in conjunction with the Global Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Participates in a variety of sales planning activities, such as analysis of competitive products and selling strategies, industry research, and development of sales budget and goals.
  • Establishes, develops, and executes marketing/sales strategies, plans, and sales forecasts for respective area based on current and projected customer orders.
  • Build and lead high-performance, cross-functional sales team to consistently exceed targets through increased account penetration and loyalty.
  • Develops multilevel internal/external contacts to provide customer support for area of responsibility and provides direct assistance to Account Managers in making key purchasing or engineering contacts within customer organizations.
  • Participates in negotiation of long-term contracts.
  • Participates in pricing decisions relative to quantities, terms and conditions of sales, within the boundaries of company policy.
  • Manages and participates in activities designed to close open commercial issues in a timely manner.
  • Makes pricing decisions under established guidelines or precedents.
  • Responsible for researching and planning business development strategies as well as attending visits with prospective clients, presenting the products and closing the sale. Participates in development of the business plan.
  • Develops strategies to optimize profitable growth and support company and customers objectives.
  • May periodically visit key worldwide markets to investigate operations and local conditions
  • Performs other duties in support of departmental goals and objectives.



Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in Business Administration, Engineering or related field, or combination of equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of management, automotive and sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Knowledge of customer(s), product and, supply base.
  • Must have experience with past project financial responsibilities
  • Position also requires a motivated person with excellent written, verbal communication and leadership skills.



Physical Demands/Work Environment

Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, travel required.
