THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Salesloft, our Director, Deal Desk is pivotal to our company’s success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing Revenue Operations Team. The Director, Deal Desk will partner with sales, finance, and legal to enable cross-functional deal execution, optimize revenue growth and cash flow, mitigate risk, and build out a world-class Deal Desk function. This will include interfacing with senior management and working closely with account executives to craft ideal solutions for clients. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for optimizing Salesloft’s deal flow and maximizing deal revenue. Specifically, you will:

  • Facilitate structuring and execution of transactions while optimizing for customer experience, revenue potential, profitability and compliance 
  • Evaluate deal economics, commercial terms and conditions, operational requirements and non-standard structuring requests
  • Provide guidance to sales and management on financial implications of terms
  • Drive best practices to increase sales efficiency and effectiveness via deal reviews, early checkpoint, and enforcement of internal controls and approvals
  • Champion a customer-first deal approach while continually refining internal processes to support the deal experience for customers

We are seeking a highly-motivated, results-oriented strategic problem solver who is also able to execute analytically. The ideal candidate is self-driven, analytical, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and speaking in front of clients. You will play a pivotal role in Salesloft’s next stage of revenue and we are looking for someone who will grow with the company.

THE TEAM:

Our Salesloft Revenue team is composed of team members who are all aligned on one mission: to redefine the Sales Engagement space and activate the authentic seller in all of us.

The team consists of operations, business and data analysts with a drive to enable Salesloft to make better decisions. Our team shares a few common traits: they are accountable, unafraid to experiment, and continuously learning. They are also the epitome of our core values - Customers First. Team Over Self. THE SKILL SET:

  • 8+ years of combined experience in deal desk, finance, legal, sales operations, revenue operations or equivalent roles. Experience in SaaS is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with sales and internal departments
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills with flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing and international work environment
  • Experience in Salesforce is preferred

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU’LL:

  • Meet the current members of the Revenue Operations team
  • Assess current state of internal processes and deal desk functions with the assistance of the PMO office
  • Attend SalesLoft’s New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our SalesLoft story and understand what makes our “Lofters” unique 
  • Begin 1:1’s with your manager, understand your 30-60-90 plan, and meet & shadow current members of the SalesLoft team
  • Meet key partners in Account Management, Finance, Marketing, Executives etc. - they will be key relationships for you throughout your career

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Participate in forecasting and pipeline review meetings and own the analysis of such meetings
  • Set your OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) with your manager and develop an action plan to achieve them
  • Be a Deal Desk/CPQ product expert 

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Take ownership of the Deal Desk functions
  • Work closely with Salesloft Legal and Finance teams to improve and update Deal Desk processes
  • Continue to focus on your OKRs

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Be considered a key performer and display the ability to make those around you better and more productive at their job
  • Develop processes for scale, taking action on necessary enhancements identified within the first 6 months
