About the job
The Red Hat Deal Desk team is looking for a Deal Architect to join us remotely in the U.S. In this role, you'll facilitate and structure the implementation of non-standard or complex deals. You will partner with Sales teams in the creative structuring of complex deals while also advising on the corporate/business policies, programs and processes that impact delivery. You'll need to be passionate, dedicated, have empathy for our customers, and a demonstrated ability to understand complex problems while providing explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated. An ability to operate in high-paced deal pursuit and process and policy related environments is paramount. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do
- Establish solid and trusted working relationships with all of Red Hat's teams and groups that contribute to the structure of, or may be shaped by, the non-standard deal, specifically the
- Sales, Business Units, Commercial Legal, and Operations teams
- Serve as a partner, trusted adviser, and advocate for the Sales team on key deal structuring; advise on alternatives, possible ramifications, or value propositioning to help guide deal closures
- Work closely with the Sales, Finance, and Commercial Legal teams on deal structuring, contract reviews, and revisions
- Collaborate with other team members, internal teams, and stakeholders to lead process improvements connected to deal support and sales enablements and education opportunities
- Coordinate deal or agreement reviews and approvals by stakeholders using defined processes and systems
- Enforce the corporate approval framework and associated policies
- Ensure forward deal momentum; troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve any issues
- Work cross-functionally to develop and enhance customer-buying programs that are designed to fit the purchasing needs of our customers
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus
- 8+ years of experience, preferably with a technology company selling solutions and services in a recurring revenue business model
- Combined background of sales and services; direct sales experience is a plus
- Familiarity with revenue recognition principles and contracting guidelines; experience drafting contract language is a plus
- Understanding of sales motions, value selling, and complex customer requests is a plus
- Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) is a plus
