How will you make an impact?

Production Chemicals and Services is a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, an extension of our biopharmaceutical customer's supply chain management team, offering customers a range of cGMP raw materials and supply chain solutions that can spectacularly improve development and manufacturing operations. We understand the minor and major implications that affect the biopharmaceutical production chemical and raw material space that can negatively impact our customer's success. Ultimately, we help our customers mitigate risk, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve the highest quality standards, so they can focus on what matters most - developing and manufacturing life changing therapeutics.

With an excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs, this position provides effective customer service for our three most important assets: Customers, Vendors and Co-workers.

What will you do?
  • Ensure that customer purchase orders and returns are processed in a timely and accurate manner and that they meet all customer requirements
  • Enter PO's into ERP system, ensure customer PO matches information in ERP system
  • Daily order management, involved in flow of order from receipt of customer PO through delivery and beyond
  • Meet and/or exceed customer expectations by providing responses to all customer inquiries
  • Work with vendors to receive lead times on material, corrective action information and general inquiries
  • Support assigned customers and provide order management support which may include providing open order reports to customers, regular meetings with customers to review order status etc.
  • Process credit memos and resolve pricing and/or invoice discrepancies
  • Track backorders and update customers on changes
  • Participate in special projects as the need arises
  • Complete daily procedures involved in order management
  • Coordinate orders to ensure they meet Requested Ship Date of Customer

How will you get here?
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of customer service experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must align with weekly COVID-19 testing requirements, regardless of vaccination status
  • Comfortable with MS Office Suite, windows-based applications, and ERP systems. AS400 experience is a plus!
  • Effectively engage with other departments within the Company such as Procurement, Sales, and Finance
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to handle and manage diverse projects
  • Meticulous and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrates a "Customer First" approach to relationships with internal and external customers
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of team members
