Basic Qualifications

The Common Hardware Systems (CHS) Business Development and Sales Director position requires a bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, or 13 years of experience in Government Acquisition and business development and sales in the commercial, Department of Defense and Federal Agencies.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Combined Salary Range

USD $203,400.00 - USD $220,100.00 /Yr.

Responsibilities for this Position

Looking for an experienced and high-energy Business Development and Sales Director. The primary function of this role is to accelerate the growth of new business and sales for the CHS-5 program which is a $4B IDIQ focused on commercial IT in the tactical environment whether that is for the military or federal agencies. The successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive and well organized and able to demonstrate the ability to sell. The candidate will define and execute CHS-5 sales strategies, business development, marketing and support the program to maximize sales and profitability.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

The overall responsibility of this position is lead and assist in the development and sales execution for the CHS program.

  • Lead the CHS business development and sales team to meet and exceed annual orders and profit targets
  • Implement business development strategies to expand existing markets and open new markets targeted at Federal Agencies and untapped DoD customer base
  • Work with the BD and Sales team to create and sustain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders at the senior and mid-management levels
  • Understand the competing IDIQs contracts and implement strategies to convince customers that the CHS value proposition will improve readiness and provide an efficient and effective way to procure COTS IT equipment
  • Understand and effectively communicate the value proposition of CHS and working with GDMS as the prime contract holder
  • Annually support the Long-Range Strategic Planning process
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs that have products that are within scope of CHS and support their efforts to bring customers to the CHS program
  • Work with the CHS Program Director and team supporting customer engagements and helping to accelerate the addition of new items to the CHS catalogue.
  • Identify and solve customers issues when using the CHS program to procure equipment
  • Manage and implement the sales forecasting and planning establishing high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency for the GD Program Team, VP of Network Computing Systems and the VP GM Ground Systems
  • Qualify new business supporting the annual IR&D investments supporting customer requirements
  • Manage the CHS selling budget to the annual budget forecast



PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant prior experience with DOD operational and acquisition processes is required with specific emphasis on Army and other DoD, Federal Agencies and Commercial of the Shelf Systems.
  • Demonstrated business development results by penetrating new customer markets and expanding into new market segments.
  • Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated research and analysis skills, as well as an ability to further evolve the CHS business using opensource financial information and marketing campaign.
  • Initiated partnerships with OEMs and other partners to expand the sales and business development network.
  • Position requires a bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, or 13 years of experience in Government Acquisition and business development and sales in the commercial, Department of Defense and Federal Agencies.
  • Candidates must also possess excellent written/verbal communications skills, presentation skills, organizational time management skills, team building skills, and display a strong sales presence.
  • Knowledge of the Army acquisition process and sufficient technical background to verify and shape our capture strategies for new business and sales on CHS.
  • Proven current relationships with senior and mid management within DOD and or Federal Agency stakeholders
  • Capable of developing and sharing a vision for achievement of objectives, delegating responsibility while being accountable, and must be able to influence others by persuasion.
  • Proven success identifying and meeting objectives, growing new business and developing both short-term and long-term strategic plans for growth.
  • Will be expected to travel 25-30% to spend time at customer locations
