While the majority of the SMX portfolio is in the Public Sector space, SMX's robust capabilities in the security, compliance, and cloud operations space are creating considerable demand with our commercial customers.

The SMX Commercial Cloud business unit is seeking an experienced and accomplished Account Executive for our commercial cloud organization. The Account Executive will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities within the commercial space, assisting delivery teams with the growth of existing accounts, as well as identifying and pursuing new logos.

The right candidate for this role will have 5+ years of sales experience, be well-versed in the cloud ecosystem, and will excel at solution-based, consultative selling of services. The Account Executive will have the rare opportunity to work in an emerging business unit within a much larger organization with demonstrable capabilities in the cloud space and well-oiled proposal and capture team that is prepare to support large-scale pursuits.

Job Description:

  • Identify, develop, and execute a pipeline of qualified opportunities in support of Smartronix growth objectives to include a full array of capture strategies (new capture, incumbent capture, sole-source, etc.). Must have a proven track record of closing deals
  • Build, develop and foster relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, industry partners, and influencers to pursue and win new opportunities
  • Engage in industry events and serve as liaison for memberships and event participation
  • Provide capture strategy guidance and actively engage/support proposal efforts
  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple opportunities
  • Prepare and update Smartronix’ authoritative tracking tool for all tracked opportunities and be able to defend justification for pursuit

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years well-rounded experience in a sales or quota-carrying account management role
  • 3+ years of experience in technology sales, ideally in a consultative selling role supporting the adoption of professional or managed services
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellent communication skills
  • Established relationships with influential clients, stakeholders, and influencers within one of the major cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a demonstrated ability to develop and foster new relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Base knowledge of cloud computing and familiarity with the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
