Become the catalyst who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes strategic relationships with our customers. The Red Hat Synergy Sales team is looking for a Principal Chief Architect to join us in the Eastern U.S., ideally in the Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, or Atlanta areas. In this IBM alliance role, you will serve as an evangelist across North America by sharing a joint vision for Red Hat's multi-product solutions, positioning Red Hat as an innovator, and spreading awareness of our emerging technologies. You'll partner with the sales management team to provide additional support required on specific opportunities and extra attention on key accounts. You'll also be responsible for gaining thought leadership by using social media and by speaking at target conferences. As a Principal Chief Architect, you will focus on broad IT strategic topics and solutions like automation, hybrid cloud, IT modernization, DevOps, and advanced application development concepts. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Use your broad knowledge of IT strategy and industry or vertical experience, and deep understanding of the Red Hat portfolio to provide technical leadership to the sales team, partners, and our customers
  • Build mutually valuable relationships with customers' and partners' C-level executives that result in deeper loyalty to Red Hat and broader adoption of Red Hat's solutions
  • Collaborate with Red Hat's Marketing team to create customer messaging and help provide insight on where Red Hat can provide meaningful business value
  • Communicate with our partners and customers in different ways, including Red Hat-sponsored events, press and analyst engagements, sales meetings, and social media
  • Collaborate broadly with Red Hat Engineering and Business Units, Professional Services, Sales teams, and partners to ensure excellent customer experience with our offerings and solutions
  • Work with regional sales leaders to help evolve the go-to-market strategy for the region
  • Demonstrate expertise by delivering whitepapers and presenting at conferences; share knowledge with your team members to allow them to learn from your work


What you will bring

  • 10+ years of enterprise computing experience, including an understanding of common enterprise computing issues and Red Hat's ability to provide solutions in these areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to meet with and present to C-level executives and develop relationships at multiple levels of the IT organization
  • Broad understanding of IT strategic topics and solutions like automation, hybrid cloud, IT modernization, DevOps, and advanced application development concepts
  • Broad understanding and ability to effectively communicate the value technology brings to a business or industry and vertical
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate the value of Red Hat's solutions portfolio across technology and solutions spaces, including platform, middleware, cloud and virtualization, and services
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and educate others on rapidly changing technology and strategies and to maintain a broad skill set in common enterprise IT technologies across development, automation, and operations
  • Willingness for learning and collaboration
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
