About the role:

The Jr Buyer at Farmers Fridge sits in one of the most critical individual contributor seats in the org  and is a member of the Planning and Procurement team. Owning all procurement of Food, Packaging, Labels and Supplies, the Buyer ensures the success of the overall manufacturing org by securing supply to the production team. This role is very cross functional as it interfaces with all teams across all of Farmers Fridge operations. What You Will Do

  • Procure raw materials, packaging, labels and supplies for the production and packing of finished goods
    • Use internal tools to generate purchase orders for raw materials for production plan
    • Coordinate with warehouse team to schedule deliveries
    • Purchase labels while meeting MOQs
    • Pull packaging from third party warehouse to meet needs of production and fulfillment teams


  • Day to Day communication with suppliers, distributors and internal stakeholders
    • Communicate orders
    • Escalate quality issues, rejections and the like to suppliers
    • Secure approved substitutes when needed and inform manufacturing org of the change
  • Monitor Inventory Levels
    • Understand current and expected inventory levels
    • Escalate inventory discrepancies or issues
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain procurement model
    • Seek, escalate and execute solution and improvements to internal tools
    • Work cross functionally to improve metrics across manufacturing org

Minimum Work and Education Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of work experience in Procurement or Buying role
  • A demonstrated track record of working on projects related to continuous improvement and change management.
  • Prior demonstrated experience working in a high-growth, rapid change environment
  • Advanced abilities in working with and using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and G Suite.
  • Able to operate in ambiguous situations and be flexible as the organization changes and grows.
