The Yahoo Exchange team is looking for a highly-motivated Buyer Development Account Executive to manage relationships with Programmatic Buyers (Trading Desks, Agencies & Direct Marketers) across the US.
The Buyer Development Account Executive plays a key role for the Exchange by driving Open Exchange, Private Marketplace and Programmatic Guaranteed revenue from agency and marketer customers. The BD Account Executive will partner with Exchange ADs to engage with programmatic buying customers and coordinate Exchange sales efforts with internal teams including Buyer Development Holding Company ADs, US Sales, Service, and Global Agency teams
Team Mission
Maximize revenue and yield as a supply evangelist for owned and operated and third-party publishers utilizing Yahoo's Supply Side Platforms. Ensure Yahoo is the monetization partner of choice for programmatic publishers and the supply partner of choice for advertisers and agencies.
Key Accountabilities
  • Generate revenue towards a defined quota established for a specific set of US based agency and/or direct advertiser customers across Yahoo Exchanges.
    • Grow revenue and meet or exceed quota targets within the book of business.
    • Drive adoption of PMP opportunities across all supply types for preferred publisher partners.
    • Maintain high customer satisfaction & cultivate strong relationships by serving as the face of Yahoo Exchanges and adding value to their business through a consultative sales & service strategy.
    • Collaborate with internal account teams on the holistic Yahoo strategy for priority advertisers.
    • Contribute to programmatic account planning efforts at the Agency Holding Co and Advertiser level.
    • Interpret exchange data and analytics and convert them into insights that lead a buyer towards action.
    • Uncover new revenue and partnership growth opportunities within or outside defined book of business.
  • Be the Programmatic Expert
    • Be the subject matter expert on all things relating to Yahoo Exchanges and the evolution of the programmatic ecosystem, including but not limited to emerging channels, supply path optimization, and the cookieless future.
    • Provide critical Voice of the Customer feedback to our product, monetization and US Yahoo Exchange management teams to ensure we remain as relevant and competitive as possible.
    • Partner with US Sales teams to identify the right engagement plan for each customer, maximize share of wallet, and engage with customers when third-party demand tools are being used.
  • Participate in a high-performing Yahoo Exchange team
    • Provide direction and feedback to the Yahoo Premium Supply team on supply performance, customer feedback and demand opportunities.
    • Partner with Yahoo Exchange Partner Development & Partner Management teams to ensure PMPs are effectively merchandised, coordinate customer engagement touchpoints & communicate Buyer impacts of any decisions made at Bidder level.

  • Programmatic revenue target achievement & book of business growth.
  • Customer adoption of Yahoo supply platforms, preferred publisher partners, and emerging channels.
  • Strong relationships with customers, within Yahoo and within industry.

Essential Experience
  • Experience in online advertising, with a focus on exchange and audience-based selling, the tools and technology that enable it, as well as the various intermediaries that sit in between Advertisers and Publishers.
  • Sales and/or Account Management experience, preferably with minimum 2 years in Digital Media.
  • Experience with partner/channel management, business development and/or negotiations with external clients.
  • Experience with selling, presenting and pitching products.
  • Proven track record of working with, meeting & exceeding revenue or productivity quotas.

Technical/Functional Skills
  • Fluency in xls., pivot tables, gsuite products and ppt. a must.
  • Ability to use data to drive insights and generate buying opportunities; experience with data interpretation as it relates to programmatic buying preferred.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Excellent relationship-building skills, customer service orientation and ability to develop strong working relationships across multiple organizational functions through collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset, with a general curiosity and an ability to troubleshoot issues using a variety of resources.

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $110,625.00 - $184,375.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
