The Role: Business Development Representative(inbound)

$18 / hour + $750 monthly performance comp


At Chapter, we're in build mode; majorly expanding our team while also growing as a company. We are looking for a Customer Ally who is passionate about helping aging Americans determine how Chapter can help them find the best Medicare plan available. Your mission every day will be to answer inbound phone calls from our highest intent leads. You'll help the customer determine the next steps in their Medicare journey by partnering them with one of our Medicare Advisors. At Chapter every Customer Ally is committed to providing outstanding service to our prospective members.


To become an amazing Customer Ally with Chapter we will help you learn a deep base of Medicare knowledge so you can quickly assist customers and get them handed off to one of our licensed Medicare Advisors. You do not need to be licenses to become a Customer Ally. Should you wish to become a Medicare Advisor in the future we will assist with the state licensing process.



What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the initial, kind, and supportive voice in the Medicare decision cycle to filter and qualify top-of-funnel, inbound leads over the phone
  • You will be the first person a prospect engages so you must be comfortable talking to strangers, communication Chapters value proposition and generating excitement in the Medicare journey
  • Strategically ask questions to identify potential prospects on every inbound call
  • Guide each inbound caller to get the assistance they need even if it is outside of Chapter expertise
  • Expertly document notes from each call in our CRM system
  • Communicate each prospects needs to the Medicare Advisor you’re transferring the lead to in order to set them up for a successful conversation post handoff
  • Work with the Advisor Ops & Marketing teams to provide patterns of customer inquiries so
  • Represent Chapter with kindness, professionalism, and dignity at all time

What you'll need

  • Skilled communicator: you’re an extremely clear and direct communicator, take a consultative approach, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a customer-facing position (examples: customer service, retail sales, waiting tables, bartending, campus services, phone banking)
  • Strong and articulate telephone personality and the ability to create rapport with potential Medicare Members
  • You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment: you remain flexible, nimble, and agile as well as calm and even keeled
  • Take initiative and truly own your success
  • You are coachable, you are resilient, you are solution oriented and enjoy coming to the table with great ideas
  • $18 / hour + $750 monthly performance comp
