ABOUT THE ROLE

Slickdeals is seeking an ambitious Sr. Business Development and Strategic Partnership Manager who is passionate about technology, digital media, and business strategy. This role will own and lead a portfolio of our top retail strategic partnerships to scale revenue through affiliate, paid media, and influencer partnerships by unlocking new growth initiatives.

In addition to relationship management and negotiation experience, this position requires an understanding of the digital media landscape, critical thinking, creativity, project management, and execution skills as you'll be called upon to conceive and drive major partner initiatives while working cross-functionally with our Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams. This individual will play a crucial role in the success of our business development strategy and revenue targets by 1) Growing Slickdeals core business by securing enhanced user value and new revenue streams and 2) Identifying ways to find solutions within the Slickdeals ecosystem and increase reach for new Slickdeals products.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Drive revenue growth initiatives through and with our top retail affiliate and brand partners for all eCommerce channels. Primarily ad sales and affiliate.
  • Manage, mentor and scale direct reports to continuously grow our ad sales and affiliate marketing revenue in addition to developing growth plans for your direct reports to support their growth path within the company.
  • Own the long-term growth strategy to ensure hitting business goals sustainably and effectively
  • Run the process of closing negotiations and new product partnerships across Slickdeals that have a significant impact on the company's bottom line
  • Understand all of the company’s service offerings, the Slickdeals ecosystem, and clearly communicate them to clients and prospective clients
  • Collaborate with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting
  • Provide regular updates (daily, weekly, monthly) on partner performance
  • Travel to on-site partner meetings and select industry events to represent Slickdeals

Who You Are

  • You have deep understanding of the digital media, affiliate, and influencer space, including key terms, industry trends, and agency relationships
  • You managed influencer, digital media, affiliate marketing, and other partner programs to drive revenue and user growth.
  • You have a passion building high-performance teams and will do whatever it takes to make your team successful
  • You excel at setting and achieving ambitious goals for yourself and your team
  • You're never satisfied with the status quo - you are always looking for the next opportunity to improve performance
  • You communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally across teams and levels and maintain cross-functional relationships with stakeholders and teams around the company
  • You are a partnerships expert, adept at finding and building relationships throughout the industry
  • You can turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into a solid action plan
  • You can balance a data driven methodology with user-first intuition
  • You focus on results, and have a bias for action
  • You have a proven track record of mid-market/enterprise sales success – exceeding targets and ability to ramp quickly
  • You have general computer and email proficiency (Google suite) in addition to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • You have some experience working with advertisers in the Retail vertical
  • You have an extensive network of industry contacts (affiliate marketing or digital media)
  • You have a deep understanding of and passion for e-commerce
  • You have existing relationships with VPs or C-level executive contacts in the online media industry

What You've Accomplished

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience with at least 2+ years of experience in account management, brand management, performance marketing, digital media sales, sales or consulting.
