About the job
The Red Hat Strategic Software Alliances team is looking for a Business Development Manager to join us. In this role, you will manage a set of tier 2 independent software vendors (ISVs) in the data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) space to build and deliver account management and executive relationships and to joint business plans to guide go-to-market strategy with Red Hat. You will be responsible for developing relationships that drive joint business, aligning with Red Hat segment strategy, driving joint sales plays, and teaming across Red Hat to guide regional executive of your ISV go-to-market plans. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Work closely with sales, partner, and marketing teams to develop outstanding partnerships and go-to-market strategies resulting in sales of joint partner and Red Hat solutions
  • Introduce emerging Red Hat's technologies to your partners including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat AMQ, and Red Hat Ceph Storage
  • Meet bookings growth, quota, and management-by-objectives (MBO) metrics
  • Manage account business planning, e.g., Channel and Alliance Management Process (CHAMP)
  • Guide end-to-end cooperation with Business Units, Products and Technology, Regional Partner Alliances, Global Marketing, Solution Architect, and Red Hat Services teams


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or engineering, business administration, marketing, or communications with demonstrated technical expertise
  • 5+ years of software sales experience or software alliances experience with a focus on business and technical skills; experience with Red Hat's technology is a plus
  • Insights into how to partner and how to address competitors in a partnership role
  • Understanding of Red Hat's solutions portfolio and value proposition of our ISVs, other partners, and customers
  • Negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to various partners, customers, or events, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
