The Business Development team creates and manages collaborations with Formlabs’ biggest customers by pioneering new and innovative 3D printing production applications. We help executives at companies like New Balance, Gillette and Hasbro launch new business initiatives that are powered by Formlabs technology through Formlabs Factory Solutions, serving as expert advisers, project managers, and application engineers as needed. See our latest project with Hasbro called Selfie Series, which allows fans to put their own face on their favorite action figure, all powered by Formlabs technology.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial commercial business developer who can build multimillion-dollar collaborations with large companies that lead Formlabs to new markets and applications. If you can understand complex technology, hustle to find and create opportunities, and think quickly and creatively in a room full of customer executives then join our Business Development team to help impact the future of 3D printing.
The Job:
- Build a pipeline of collaborative, high volume production projects from the ground up by identifying targets, developing relationships, finding opportunities, scoping and negotiating deals, and ensuring that Formlabs delivers on our promises.
- Collaborate with the Business Development technical team to research, propose, and develop new applications that can facilitate growing the next big 3D printing business.
- Lead all commercial activities for application specific outreach including researching, market scoping, product market fit, all outreach activities and eventually pitching to prospective clients.
- Scope large customer project opportunities, develop proposals and negotiate contracts with some of the biggest manufacturers in the world.
- Utilize your available network (including internally at Formlabs) to constantly be looking for the next big new opportunities
You:
- Minimum of 4 years experience in business development, product development, consulting or similar customer facing roles
- You are focused on execution and creating results, rather than just strategy
- Work well both independently and as part of a high-performing team
- You are an expert at driving business cases including cost modeling and business analysis that encourage change
- Have conceived and built organizations, initiatives or projects from scratch
- Are an expert in coordinating people and resources not directly under your control
- Can craft productive partnerships that align incentives for mutual growth
- You are able to blend a high level of technical prowess with expert customer facing skills
- Are immersed in technology and can dive into details whether about electronic components or business models
- Are a smooth diplomat as well as a tough negotiator
- Identify and harness business opportunities outside the status quo
- Have a history of building a personal network of customers in your industry
- Enjoy traveling frequently to speak with customers and partners
