The Role:

The Business Development Manager - Vacuum Chamber Solutions Service is responsible for driving profitable growth of the US Semiconductor On-tool service business by identifying new OnTool Service offerings, developing of commercial strategies, key account plans and market sector plans for all Semiconductor OnTool offerings. This role will also act as the Voice of the Customer to provide guidance for product development and deployment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing service revenue, margin targets, forecasts, measurements and reporting of achievements.
  • Assists Service Sales Director in defining annual service share and penetration targets with the Business Line Managers and the Customer Center General Manager.
  • Acts as part of the US Customer Center Service management team to develop the supporting infrastructure and resources required to deliver Customer Center and Divisional strategies.
  • Assists in the management of all aspects of Service regional pricing policy and discount entitlement management (services and spares) for On-tool services, within global guidelines and in collaboration with Equipment Business Line management, to achieve an optimal balance between market share and business profitability in the region.
  • Drives, coordinates, and reports on the implementation of new Service Products and Service Marketing campaigns in the region.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of marketing collateral and training materials for Edwards Service, Sales, Customer Care staff, channel partners and Distributors if appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Service Operations management to define service elements of integrated equipment and service account plans for key customers, to ensure that achievement is regularly reviewed, and to adapt plans as circumstances require to maximize long term total business opportunity with those customers.
  • Develops financial models to quantify and demonstrate the value of performance-based service contracts to our customers, to quantify the anticipated risks and rewards for the business, and to monitor and report the actual performance of executed contracts.
  • Assists in developing, measuring and reporting revenue, margin targets, and forecasts.
  • Supports the service supply chain and Service Technology Centers (STCs) to achieve share and penetration targets.
  • Assists in the development of regional pricing and discounting policy within global guidelines.
  • Drives, coordinates and reports on the implementation of new service products and marketing campaigns.
  • Contributes to the development of marketing and training materials to allow all stakeholders to understand the value proposition of our service offerings.
  • Collaborates with service and sales to define and present service plans and proposals for key customers and ensures that plans are reviewed regularly and adapted as needed to meet achievements.
  • Develops models that can quantify the value of performance based service contracts to our customers, anticipates risks/rewards to Edwards, and reports actual performance of established contracts.
  • Obtains and compiles information on our equipment and competitors in region to propose strategies and build a customer preference for Edwards over alternative.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from [supervisor/ manager] and other duties as assigned.


What We Expect of You?

Education level

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.


Relevant Previous experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in advanced technology environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years in marketing, product managment or other commercially-oriented role in a service business or Business-to-Business Sales.


Knowledge areas/Skills

  • MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint


Other requirements

  • Availability for regular travel within US and occasional travel internationally.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer facing skills.
  • Customer facing managerial experience preferred.
