Department OverviewMotorola Solutions has expanded its Video Security and Access Control portfolio. It is this portfolio that will house the latest and greatest technologies associated with AI-powered solutions for video security, access control and mission-critical communications.
Job Description
Motorola Solutions Video Security and Access Control Division designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, body-worn cameras, and access control solutions. Motorola Solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Reporting to Motorola Solutions Business Development Director, A&E North America, the Business Development Manager, A&E, North America will be a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about security solutions and is highly customer-focused and efficient.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and Architects, Electrical Engineers, and Security Consultants in the defined territory.
Schedule regular engagements with assigned centric consultant community to maintain relationships and assigned opportunities relative to latest and greatest within Motorola Solutions portfolio (Lunch and Learns, webinars, on-site meetings/demos).
Attend tradeshows and professionally participate in booth duty within the Motorola Solutions booth at various marketing events as determined necessary.
Conduct sales calls, schedule “local” promotional work, and track sales activities with all A&E’s. systems integrators, end-users using Motorola Solution’s Salesforce.com lead and project tracking software database. Update regularly with relevant notes.
Ability to educate the A&E community on Motorola Solutions products, technologies, and design tools via in-person meetings and virtual presentations.
Find and create sales opportunities from the A&E community to contribute to the North American Sales Team's pipelines.
Work to influence project specifications to call out Motorola Solutions products in the North American market.
Good understanding of the Construction Lifecycle and how the A&E business model operates.
Work as an overlay to the North American Sales Team to equip them with resources to engage with A&E’s quickly and effectively in a manner that will result in Motorola Solutions:
Differentiation in assigned marketplace.
Market leadership.
Subject matter expertise that will help close deals.
Develop annual budgets for the assigned vertical to include, trade show events, resources, and marketing materials.
Develop standardized assigned sector presentations and sales tools for use by the North American Sales Team outlining Motorola Solutions' value proposition within a vertical.
Compile data on competitive products and pricing and report it back to head office, maintain a working knowledge of competitive offerings.
Help in identifying trade associations, partnering opportunities, new business plans & objectives, and other creative market approaches to maximize the impact of North American Sales Team efforts within the assigned marketplace.
Supervise and manage business unit resources - demo equipment, marketing budgets, travel budgets, or any other resources the company allocates.
Create and execute assigned sector business plan, update, and modify quarterly to reflect market changes/innovations and/or technology acquisitions.
Create and execute marketing plans targeting the assigned sector including marketing campaigns, tradeshow events, sales tools, web resources, social media, and customer interactions as approved.
Work with and educate North American Sales Team members on how to engage the assigned marketplace effectively and with maximum results.
Develop and maintain relationships within the consultant community specific to the assigned sector.
Develop relationships within the assigned sector that are relevant to security and surveillance and have the possibility of generating opportunities for Motorola Solutions.
Identify “product gaps” that need to be addressed by Product Management in order to gain greater exposure/standardization assigned sector.
Prepare regular reports and provide to your reporting line and Product Management on gaps and fiscal impact of gaps to Motorola Solutions.
Interface and work with 3rd party technology providers in the assigned sector to develop relationships for technology integrations.
Continuously provide feedback to Product Management around regulatory and/or IT requirements that impact our product's ability within the assigned vertical (UL, Safety Act Certification, VMware Certification, etc.)
Execute and complete all MBO’s assigned.
Create a positive work environment and utilize team-building skills with other team members and direct reports.
Provide monthly progress report(s) with the following data:
Monthly Bookings & QTD – YTD Bookings
If we over-achieved, provide a short explanation of what drove us over the top. If we underachieved, please explain the factors.
Territory:
The Business Development Manager, A&E Northeast, North America, shall have the responsibility to cover NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, and WV for Architect, Engineering, and Security Consultant Firms
Other:
Frequent travel will be required during the execution of the duties of the Business Development Manager, A&E, North America.
Motorola Solutions may allocate such additional or other duties of work as informed to the Business Development Director, A&E, North America from time to time as necessary to meet the needs of the business of Motorola Solutions.
Basic Requirements
4+ years of Sales experience working in the physical security industry
