About the team: 

Part of Worldpay from FIS, the Merchant Solutions division of FIS, the Merchant Solutions Bid Team manages Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and RFP Presentations from and for medium to large existing clients and prospective clients from all around the world. These merchants are a mixture of corporate and public sector companies. Working hand in hand with our Sales & Commercial teams and Solutions Consultants, the team managed circa $100 million worth of bids in 2020. 

This position will be preferably based near Cincinnati, OH. Home based with some travel to the office is the preference, so you can be with your team on a regular basis – to be agreed.   

What you will be doing: 

The successful candidate will be a talented and highly motivated Proposals Writer or Bid Coordinator ready for their next step in Bid Management. Responsibilities will include working with members of Sales & Commercial teams, Solutions Consultants, Legal and Pricing teams specialising in Public Sector opportunities, as well as other internal subject matter experts, to expand the Worldpay from FIS footprint in the Public Sector – Education & Government. You will coordinate support and write responses for large enterprise opportunities through the RFx lifecycle, from development of leads, through proposal submission. 

You will be responsible for producing professionally written proposals that clearly articulates our Worldpay from FIS’s value proposition for the public sector. The responses should follow our tone of voice, copy guidelines and brand, while being clearly tailored for these prospective clients. 

This is a collaborative role that requires an ability to work under pressure, flexibly and handling demanding deadlines.  

What you bring: 

Industry background is a ‘must’ for the successful candidate, enabling you to develop win themes and discriminators for proposals in the Public Sector. You are familiar with the unique ways these tenders are usually presented, often made of multiple, complex compliance requirements. You can demonstrate at least two years’ experience of developing successful proposals for RFIs, RFPs and Presentations for the Public Sector. A background of working closely Legal teams on these complex tenders is a bonus.   

You are a highly determined individual, used to motivating teams towards deliverable, as you will be coordinating support from start to submission.  

You should be able to think strategically about Worldpay from FIS, our mission and values, products and roadmap, so you can translate these into your proposals and show why Worldpay is the best partner for this sector.  

Finally, the candidate must have dynamic interpersonal skills and be adept at engaging with stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for building and maintaining successful relationships with the teams they’ll be working with.  

Other desirable qualities: 

  •  An enthusiastic and collaborative approach to work, a sense of initiative and the ability to work both as part of a team but also independently with minimal supervision 
  • Meticulous, attention to detail so as to never miss a compliance requirement of those RFPs 

  • Experience working on RFPs and content in a fast-paced industry, where change is expected and no two days are the same, with strong resilience, adaptability, and proactivity   

  • A professional level of written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors 

  • Proficiency in problem solving and time management skills, managing multiple deadlines 

  • Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, while being able to start adding value to the team in a short space of time 

Added bonus if you have: 

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry 

  • Worked with QVidian or other Bid Platform 

  • APMP or other relevant bid project management qualification 

  • Copywriting diploma or certificate   

  • Project Management experience   

  • Proficiency with Adobe suite and MS PowerPoint, Excel & Word (advanced level)

Developing level professional role. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency. Works under general supervision with increased latitude for independent judgment. Identifies non-routine issues and routes/escalates to appropriate team member. Works on multiple concurrent projects of medium complexity. Is an active team member, contributes to complex projects to gain experience, shares ideas and suggests process improvements appropriate for level of experience. Consults with senior peers on semi-complex processes to learn through experience. Typically requires three to five years of experience in sales support or related discipline.
