About the Role: 
PitchBook’s Associate Sales Engineer provides support to our Sales and Customer Success teams specifically enabling use of API and data feed solutions. An Associate Sales Engineer will develop the skills necessary to easily navigate the technical aspects of our API and data feed products. Associate Sales Engineers provide ongoing technical assistance to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data feed and API services to clients through regular communication and coordination with PitchBook’s global engineering team.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre and post-sales technical expertise in collaboration with Sales Engineers
  • Partner with PitchBook’s Sales and Customer Success teams to determine and implement technical solutions for clients and prospects, while learning best practices from Sales Engineers
  • Partner with remote development teams to build client solutions for PitchBook’s data feed and API products
  • Manage a queue of client or prospect requests for technical solutions and specs
  • Work collaboratively with Product teams to share customer feedback and suggestions
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • 1-2 years previous experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or financial data customer support
  • Desire to work with customer-facing data feed and API solutions and implementation, particularly with RESTful APIs
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts, including but not limited to relational tables, data types and normalization. A willingness to learn SQL and other database languages are desired
  • Both social and technical with the ability to foster relationships with senior-level executives
  • Has a strong desire and the ability to learn more about the Private Equity, Venture Capital and M&A marketplace and understand why and how each of our diverse client types engages with our product and data
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
