As an Associate Business Development Group Manager, this role will manage the team of Community BDG representatives, responsible for identifying and prospecting new sales opportunities, researching target markets, scheduling and facilitating product demonstrations, achieving qualified leads and supporting the community banking Regional Vice Presidents. This role will also be responsible for hiring, onboarding, mentoring and coaching the BDG reps in the Community Banking segment. There is not an individual territory responsibility in this role, however the expectation is that as a manager, you are ready and willing to step in and help grow the sales pipeline by assisting with prospecting activities. This leadership role will set the standard for excellence across all Business Development related responsibilities as well as upholding our BDG values and nCino company culture. Additionally, the role will work with the Sales and Marketing teams on shared goals and strategies as well as other product focused teams across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of BDG reps, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training and retraining
  • Communicate clear individual and team goals, motivate and coach employees, and maintain an environment that adheres to the BDG team culture values.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and support
  • Coordinate and communicate with departments throughout the organization to ensure alignment with the BDG's mission and approach
  • Consistent communication with Regional Vice Presidents to provide and receive feedback and coaching opportunities and ensure alignment across territory partnerships
  • Consult with Product Specialists, and Marketing and Sales leadership for feedback and strategy development
  • Achieve key metric goals across the Community Banking Team (Activities, Scheduled Demos, Qualified Opportunities) as well as keeping SFDC data clean and accurate, including campaign documentation, pipeline and account management and demo preparation
  • Maintain BDG Onboarding through Showpad and other onboarding resources to ensure accuracy and effectiveness for new team members.
  • Consistently meet with each team member to address the following items:
    • Prospecting strategy
    • Employee development
    • Goal achievement
    • Personal effectiveness
    • Annual themes and campaigns
    • Dashboards
  • Serve as BDG main point of contact in the absence of Director of Business Development
  • Work with the Director of Business Development to develop new strategies around scaling and growing the team, developing employees, content creation, process improvement, territory planning, goal setting, marketing influence and feedback, and company revenue growth
  • Work with Director of Business Development to plan and facilitate our bi-weekly team meeting.
  • Travel (10%)
    • Conferences - professionally represent nCino (and your BDG colleagues) at various national conferences to maximize net new lead generation, relationship building, and ensure proper follow within the greater Business Development Group after returning.
    • Business Meetings - when appropriate, participate in on-site business meetings as the person leading business development for community banking.



Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience, education, and/or extraordinary performance
  • 4+ years in a sales or professional services role, preferably within the SaaS or financial services industry
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding individua sales goals with superior quality and attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining transparent, respectful, communicative relationships with direct reports and colleagues
  • Demonstrable ability to adhere to BDG and nCino Corporate values
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce and other Sales and Business Development related systems and tools
  • Desire to train, mentor and coach employees



Desired:

  • Banking/Financial technology background
  • Previously has led BDR/SDR teams in a SaaS industry.
