Reporting to the Lead Sales Director of Field Talent and Performance, you will prioritize, lead, influence and execute sales and planning initiatives in alignment with strategic priorities of the enterprise. In addition, drive conviction of Northwestern Mutual's superior products, integrated financial planning philosophy, client experience and advisor career value. Providing a voice of field perspective back to organizational projects/priorities is an area of emphasis.
What's the role?

  • Identify, prioritize, lead, influence and execute sales and planning initiatives in alignment with strategic priorities of the enterprise.
  • Drive conviction of Northwestern Mutual's superior products, integrated financial planning philosophy, client experience and advisor career value.
  • Drive advisor productivity through implementation of an integrated product approach which includes a combination of risk management and investment management solutions.
  • Execute sales & planning initiatives in the field office growth plans in collaboration with the Performance Team, Enterprise Partners and Network Office Leadership.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with advisors and field leaders identifying opportunities for growth that maximize potential, retention, and alignment to NM priorities.
  • Provide voice of field perspective back to organizational projects/priorities.
  • Engage in cross-enterprise project committees as assigned.
  • Provide consulting to advisors and field leaders on NM's Practice Management areas including teaming options, human capital, compensation, equity, succession/transition and other related concepts.


Bring your best! What the role requires:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, marketing or finance.
Industry designations and/or graduate degree a plus
Minimum of nine years financial services sales experience to include high level consultation on sales strategies, product features and planning platforms.
Fundamental knowledge of risk management products, investment products, and financial planning concepts.
Working knowledge of practice management concepts (i.e. business models, talent management, teaming, talent acquisition & development, merger/acquisition, succession and transition).
Demonstrated ability to execute strategies through field leadership and advisor development systems to achieve productivity goals.
Strategic agility to adjust focus and prioritize according to company priorities.
Ability to operate and execute in both an independent and highly collaborative team environment (Team of Teams).
Strategic thinking and business consulting skills that leverage qualitative and quantitative data to analyze, identify and solve for key risk and growth opportunities.
Exceptional strategic consulting skills with the ability to influence others and when necessary engage in challenging conversations that hold others accountable.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to lead change communications and processes in the field and home office.
Up to 50% travel or as needed to achieve objectives.
FINRA 7 and Resident State Life & Health License or willing to obtain in a designated timeframe.
