Role/Responsibilities

Buy-Side Solutions business is one of the newly established groups that is focused on offering financial technology solutions to asset owners, investment & actuarial consultants, investment management firms, and outsourced CIO firms. The group has developed award-winning technology solutions that are being utilized by many firms across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. This group is one of the businesses to deliver growth in an industry that is looking for technology solutions that are easy to use and support quick decision-making for the users.
This role is responsible for working with internal stakeholders to drive the sales process for Buyside solutions. Key activities include identifying and qualifying prospects, initiating new sales activity and managing sales cycles to closure. Additionally, the role requires the assessment of client needs and providing clients with strategic guidance and product overviews.

Buyside technology solutions include:

  1. Pension Risk Analytics software - runs asset-liability risk modeling for defined benefit pension plans.
  2. Performance Attribution software - calculates portfolio performance attribution relative to a benchmark including Environmental, Governance & Social risk factors.
  3. Economic Scenario Generator - asset model that develops capital markets projections over future time periods in order for investors to learn the potential impact of their asset allocation.


As a Buy-Side Solution Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to generate revenue by selling these technology software products within the US Market. Your focus will be to grow relationships with US investment & actuarial consulting firms and outsourced CIO firms.

The Buy-Side Solutions Sales Professional will be responsible for:

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals and targets that align with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Responsible for existing relationships with customers of Buyside Solutions.
  • Work with sales colleagues and other internal stakeholders to drive the retention of existing business and initiating new sales activity and managing sales cycles to closure.
  • Drive the development of business within assigned territories.
  • Run product demos to prospects.
  • Maintain desired meeting activity and pipeline levels.
  • Partner with Relationship Management team to develop clear, concise proposals and deliver targeted client demos that address client needs.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to promote improvement in product quality and the development of new sources of revenue.
  • Identify additional products and services that clients may benefit from and introduce them appropriately into dialogue with clients.
  • Begin development as a market expert and provide product use cases during the sales cycle.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the relationship manager, the client and the account management organization for retention of existing client base.
  • Share potential sales opportunities in other regions with the respective sales representatives
  • Assist in the preparation and circulation of market insight comments to create awareness of Moody's expertise internally and externally.
  • Assist in the training of new team members.
  • Provide current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
  • Position requires some travel when feasible and safe to do so ( 20%-40%).



Qualifications

  • Experience in a sales or client-facing role.
  • Well-versed in US pensions regulations.
  • The candidate must have relationships or be able to develop relationships with major US investment & actuarial consulting firms and OCIO firms.
  • Over 5 years' sales or significant client-facing experience covering some or all of these channels.
  • Demonstrate a good sales track record with commercial acumen.
  • Good understanding of the US pension industry including roles that all stakeholders play in servicing the pension clients.
  • Preferably an actuarial background or a CFA certification.
