The Small Business Retention team is responsible for managing and renewing existing accounts and building relationships with our internal and external partners . The Account Manager will report to the Manager of Account Management . In this role you will be responsible for maximizing retention, growth, and specialty up sales within an assigned territory. Small Business Account Managers are expected to achieve retention goals and meet objective outlined in the business plan .

Your Role
The Small Business Retention team is responsible for managing and renewing existing accounts and building relationships with our internal and external partners . The Account Manager will report to the Manager of Account Management . In this role you will be responsible for maximizing retention, growth, and specialty up sales within an assigned territory. Small Business Account Managers are expected to achieve retention goals and meet objective outlined in the business plan .
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Support Small Group accounts using knowledge of BSCA products: TRIO, Tandem PPO, ASO, Specialty and educate client on BSCA product value propositions and comparisons to competitive offerings
- Negotiate with brokers/consultant with basic understanding of the renewal process and reach out to underwriting for quotes and pricing inquiries
- Builds client relationships through brokers and communicates with non-executive decision makers
- Uses general understanding of processes that involve other functional groups: EDI, HDR, I&B, UW, Marketing, Markets, Finance, Actuaries, Legal, Network Team, HCQA, Claims and Producer Services
- Present BSCA prepared presentation decks to clients
- Retention and growth of Small Employer Groups
- Follow standard practices/procedures in analyzing situations or data to come to resolution
- Clearly articulate thoughts and present BSCA prepared presentation decks
- General understanding of the renewal process
- Updates Shield Link with accurate, thorough, and timely information
Qualifications:
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires a DOI Life/Health License
- Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of the health care industry and related benefit products and services
- Proven track record of understanding the customer and their underlying needs
- Can interpret and articulate reasoning behind rate calculations
- Has negotiating skills
- Proven excellence in Account Management skills and Account Retention
